​[Feedback] Gemling Legionnaire Worst Ascendancy

I would be ok with a total refresh of the Legionnaire

I would personally go

1) One ascendancy centered around having a chit-ton of extra skill points

2) One ascendancy really juicing up your skill gems

3) One ascendancy letting you spec in whatever tree you want

4) One ascendancy centered around martial skill mastery

(very open and broad on purpose lol)

Yea....it seems like GL Ascendancy tree provides very few paths comparing with others.

Players should have choices variations when taking one path. I mean one path should lead to at least 2 other different paths. Totally 4 starting paths with 8 following paths will cover every build.

Negative effects are unnecessary. This Ascendancy can't make miracles even if current bonuses are doubled.
One more path needed to Adaptive Capability and Crystaline Potential should be merged with other small notables. Chaos damage reduction should be added whether is absorbed by Armour or EV.


Generally i feel that paths are trying to seperate build categories and that's is the weakest point. In Smith of Kitava you have more fast paths to choose what you want for your build. In GL paths are preventing all combinations.

Those are some interesting ideas, hope GGG gives big sweeping buffs to GL in 0.5 as the ascendancy feels abandoned at this point.

GL Ascendancy with Crossbow use doesn't help a lot. I mean using Deepest tower you can reach an acceptable level but you can't do significant strong damage as other combinations (class-weapon).

The problem is if not using Deepest Tower and trying something else. In this occasion DPS can't exceed 170k without sacrifizing defences. ( With other Ascendancies reaching 350k DPS).

So GL Ascendancy is very scetchy implemented if we are talking about DPS bonuses. Furthermore Life or ES defenseses are lacking support and current nodes are a joke always compared of what other Ascendancies provide.

I think GGG needs to add solid DPS bonuses to GL.

+1 need improvements.
It's bc gemling was very strong in .1 and .2 and then in .3 they destroyed the class so everyone could spam grenades and have left it in its bad state since

True, GL did feel very strong in .1 and .2, hope GGG returns some of its former glory in .5

I played in 0.3.0 patch a Mercenary char and tried to different GL builds.(Armour & Evasion based)
My experience was overall from bad to meh. I don't wanna tuch any other combination with Gemling Legionnaire included. Crossbow combination has other Ascendancies more protective.

-Nodes like Enhanced Effectivenes its a big implementation failure and doesn't help even if you try raise one type of attribute sacrifizing the others. + There is nowhere in p.tree & Ascendancy a node to help reduce chaos damage.

-Two many small passive that give almost nothing special. 4 waisted small passive nodes to reach nothing special! Common other Ascendancies have directly paths to all significant nodes. Small passive nodes should give minimum 50% increased buff to Crossbow & Minion/Companion investments while Special big nodes will cover main category weaknesses like DPS,Life,ES.

-Also it would be essential to have one small passive node supporting Armour and Evasion. Becouse even with ton of nodes chosen in passive tree you can't really pass the 35k Armour without sacrifizing DPS or other significant investments. Same also for EV.


Gemling Legionnaire.....Never Again until Great Again!
