GGG You forgot Games are supposed to be fun

+1

as long as the devs ignore all feedback this game will never be fun. they are making the game for themselves and what they enjoy not what the public wants

This is always a major problem for some, if not 99%, of players when competition is introduced into a game. PoE has become a hyper-competitive game, and when a game demands preparation and a lot of organization to be first, richest, or most famous, it leaves those who just want to have fun behind.

That's why SSF exists. And if you don't want to play SSF because you have friends to play with then why not play trade but never trade outside of the group of your friends? You can have lots of fun in this game without competing at all. People just live on the bubble that you NEED to trade in order to progress but that's just not true.

I understand what you mean, but personally, PoE would be a bit bland without that little interaction with other players, whether it's for buying or selling. Like any ARPG, we're all looking for that little reward that gives us a purpose to keep going and develop our character. You might say it's like in SSF, but SSF is still a version of the game that will appeal more to those who already know the game well.

You can play SSF all you want, the balance and general game direction still come from trade, meaning it's not balanced around what I would consider general player fun. Your skills in SSF are nerfed into the dirt before you can ever touch them because some 12/h a day streamer is using the trade league economy as an amusement park.
It's an excuse at this point - oh, you don't like this aspect of the game? No problem, fire up SSF and play however you like. Just a way to handwave the game's many many shortcomings.

Funny thing is - the same excuse can't be used in PoE 1. You can't just decide to play slow there, you must always play fast and in a braindead way.

The game isn't balanced around SSF though which means your experience might be pretty awful unless you enjoy the extra challenge.

To be hones I always feel like I have better drops in SSF than trade lol. Maybe it's just because I really pay attentiont to everything on the ground and engage in crafting as much as possible but right now I have better gear and DPS in SSF than I had in 0.3 trade with the similar build.

You need some knowledge in order to success yes, but I did not really encountered this "extra challenge" you speak about. Maybe some bosses took longer to defeat but that's all.
