GGG You forgot Games are supposed to be fun

I think it is more a problem where players forget they are supposed to have fun while gaming. It is pretty simple. Not having fun? Change the way you play the game to make it fun. Can't? Don't play. Give feedback(if you care) and wait until they change things into what you think is fun. If they don't then the game is not for you and you can safely move on.

IS that not what people are doing right now? Lol, they are providing feedback and saying exactly why they are finding the game not as fun right now.

Exactly why the play time each season gets less and less, not having fun fighting a deluge of bugs to power this skinner box methodology they employ rather than making the game work, or fun.

I find the players with these complaints are always similar: the kind who don't really play the game at it's face value - which is a somewhat challenging puzzle that's supposed to be figured out and overcome as you discover new elements and potential solutions through experimentation and practice.

They are mostly playing a derivative made-up game that resembles something closer to a pvp economy-simulator, and this is significantly enabled by the fact that they have access to the puzzle-solutions which are being provided by the people who ARE (mostly) playing the game at it's face value.

As most challenging things go, if you're circumventing the challenges by following a guide's solutions, and then your solutions no longer work as well - it just feels annoying and as if you're being punished with now having to overcome a seemingly unnecessary roadblock: unfun.

So players who don't enjoy the recreational problem solving aspect of this game and who also advocate for less of it are actually undermining the foundational element that allows them to enjoy the game in the first place.

It's why GGG seems like they "aren't listening to the players". They just aren't listening to those players - because they shouldn't.

There are a lot of people who play this game who don't actually like the fundamental elements of the game - they really only like cosplaying as a god at a loot-casino, and everything in the way of that is "unfun".

This is why we still have poe1 lol.

There are simply things in the game that dont make sense. Archon is such a thing. Its simply bad. Yes you cna use it, but it wont ever be good.

Then Volatility. Its dealing physical damage, when it explodes. That means you cna either use with Chayula or never at all. If Volatility would deal chaos dmg, then it would make a lot more sense. And suddenly its usable with CI.
But now you have another problem. How to gain Volatility without Chayula. U dont. U can gain 3 Volatility when a minion is killed. Which might be usable with Unearth. Volatility is so niche its stupid.

Infusions are decent id say. But why the fuck do they only work on spells.
Also Infusions are remnants and u have to pick them up, that in itself is a huge limitation especially for casters. Youre generally not close to where infusions are.

Lets see Plant Spells. There are 2 Weapon types wiht Plant spells/skills. Bow and Primal. You have more Plant skills in Bow than in Primal. While Bow nodes are on the right side of thee and Plant skill nodes are on the left. U wont go ever there and get the nodes with Bow. Making the Plant Nodes useless for Bow users. You can try to make a Bow build with classes that are closer to that, but it wont be good. While some people actually play Oracle with Bow its not because of any plant nodes. It because of Garukhans resolve. Which makes the downside of Garukhan nonexistent.

Thats not how that works. If the majority of players dont have fun in a game, then its gonna die. Developers adapt to what players wanna play not vise versa. What youre doing here is similar to victim-blaming.

Dot have FUN its your FAULT.

Well gatekeepers keep gatekeeping. If everyone will follow the "don't have fun it's your fault, change the game" advice then barely anyone will stick with that game.

Everyone keep forgetting that POE2 IS THE FUTURE. The future for GGG in general for the next decade at least.

I have mentioned this in another thread during 0.3, GGG just likes to destroy itself at this point with all these gimmicky "You need to have this in order to do this on a sunday morning while x is active so you use a skill once that doesn't even deal damage". Literally 90% of things in PoE2 are the exact opposite of fun, every league we see the same skills in builds, because that's the only way to actually get somewhere in this game, except you are somewhere in the 0.1% of players who can afford all these super expensive items that somehow actually benefit a very specific niche build so it actually doesn't suck.
I lowkey agree
The game is NOT a puzzle. Skills are meant to be used together for combos. There aren't builds to be discovered, and if there are - they require gear that is beyond most people's grasp. Funny thing is, GGG unshackled themselves by removing skill sockets from gear but all that did was forcing players into the same boring combo gameplay where you buff a skill before it does massive damage. Spark is a good example - there are specific skills which buff it and you have to use them. Calling this "recreational puzzle" instead of what it really is - "locked builds" is hilarious
This is always a major problem for some, if not 90%, of players when competition is introduced into a game. PoE has become a hyper-competitive game, and when a game demands preparation and a lot of organization to be first, richest, or most famous, it leaves those who just want to have fun behind.
