Why not just declare the mechanic and economy screwed, relax some of the restrictions on the temple to make it easier for casuals to catch up? Just promise to fix the mechanic if it ever goes core and then leave it be for now.

Just listen to the feedback and revert the lock medalion change; keep everything else nerfed, nerf everything except the temple building GGG.

Hello am 48 year man from somalia. Sorry for my bed england. I grind Path of Exile 2 every day and night. I sacrificed my sleep, my food, and my mental health for build temple. I am not noob, I know mechanics very goodest. I spent 50 hours of my life upgrading temple, planning rooms, killing monsters like professional gamer. Then GGG hotfix come. My temple is now BRICK. Complete brick. Room wrong, rewards gone, everything useless. All my time wasted for nothing. I stare at screen with 400 ping

I will try to stay factual and calm.
This league finally did something right. It gave players a mechanic that was fun, engaging, and personal. Building the Temple took time, planning, and effort, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays when many people invested entire weekends into it.
Yes, the loot was strong.
Yes, some people were printing currency.
But instead of tuning numbers or fixing abuse cases, the solution was simply to make the Temple nearly impossible to build.
Players who already finished their Temples keep farming them with only slightly reduced loot. Everyone else effectively lost access to the core league mechanic.
So the result is not balance. It is punishing late or casual players while rewarding early grinders.
What makes this worse is the irony. We were told that leagues would not be nerfed mid-league. Apparently that promise lasts only until players start enjoying themselves.
The Temple was not just profitable. It felt cozy. Something you built yourself, not just another map to rush through. For once, PoE offered something more than endless mapping, and it was removed in practice.
This is not about free loot.
It is about respect for player time.
Killing a league mechanic instead of adjusting it, especially during holidays, sends a very clear message.
And after this patch, there is simply no more trust in the developers.

well written. 100% agree. no respect for player time. who thought it is better to leave things alone than punching the people who try to keep up.

Bad take. These patches have almost no effect on those that exploited Holten and are an enormous hinderance to those trying to build their temple now.
Those that took advantage of Holten have their temples built, they get less currency, sure, but they are built and stable and get the necessary locks and have the level 3 rooms. This means instead of getting 50-100 divs or more, they get 10-30 divs per run, while everyone else is stuck spending 200 or more hours trying to build theirs, if it is even possible just trying to keep up with the market.
This creates a currency gap where rich get richer, and casuals are stuck. This isn't difficult to comprehend.
they wont get it cause they never interactet withe the mech. so just shrug on this trolls :)
The fact you think people getting 10-30 divs per run is ok is the problem. i agree they didn't go far enough. should of wiped everyone's temple who used the exploit.

How can you guys not see that the total disrespect for people's time is what's causing this, and pretty much every single other giant backlash? It's what is at the core of most of the other complaints about PoE as well. People take time away from their FAMILIES for this game, because it's THAT fun when it's fun.
You guys are doing absolutely irreperable harm to your brand right now. I've been around of alot of these debalces, and with each one, I grow less invested and more pessimistic. And I know I'm not alone.
This decision to kill the only endgame that PoE2 has at the moment is honestly classic GGG at this point, but let me stress this again: you waited weeks to do it, after hundreds of thousands of players saw no comment or reaction from GGG and sunk a massive amount of our Christmas Break into it. That's the utter disrespect for our time that makes people mad enough to not come back.
