Rename POE 2 so it is not associated with real POE.

Oh? What's so special about POE1 players compared to poe2 players? What does "One phase ubers" mean? It requires great reaction times and mechanical skill? What percentage of PoE1 players actually do it?

Engaging combat is not just about bossfights, most of your time spent playing the game is doing maps over and over, that should be engaging.

But in terms of boss design both games have flaws, and i certainly not gonna judge based on "Ubers". All bosses should aim to be engaging, even campaign ones. If i stomp them then its a disappointment

You can not have engaging combat when the loot is not deterministic. People don't want to combo around for 2 transmutes and a wisdom scroll.

Why would anyone want to play an engaging ARPG when it falls flat against literally every souls or soulslike?

I rather play No Rest for the wicked or in march Nioh 3, because these games value my time and skill.

PoE2 doesn't and that's the issue with this game.

You are not making any sense, what does combat have to do with loot? Loot in POE always had a flaw of too much trash dropping to dilute the pool of good stuff and requiring itemfilters to have a decent experience, all due to being balanced around trade. It's strange to act like loot is somehow good in poe1 , when the issues of poe2 loot stems from being too much like poe1.

People prefer to play a more engaging ARPG because its fundamentally more enjoyable to play even if there was no loot at all.

It doesnt need to be better than soulslike, it needs to be better than PoE1 which it is. Combat is vastly superior in PoE2 its not even a debate. But it could be a lot better, i only know that catering to poe1 diehards would be a mistake.

thats because its made by poe1 devs, but im sure it will get better with time.

Most people would consider fun to be something engaging, youre describing something mind-numbing and not engaging as fun. I'd say your kind of "fun" is pretty niche and of low demand in the broader gaming community.

No 2 people have fun the same way. Just because you think it's unfun, doesn't mean it is.

read my post again, not sure what your point is. Some things people find more fun than others, one can make very basic observations. No, everything isn't all equally fun just because there is element of subjectivity. Some people may claim games are fun with auto-battle enabled, you certainly cant call it engaging, and you can barely call it playing a game. Its not controversial to say that people prefer to have fun through engaging gameplay, your personal opinion is not necessary.

Remind me how is fun wrong again?

The thing is I couldn't care less about the "broader gaming community" as you have put.

Should I even?

PoE is fun to me and that is all that matters to me.

I don't play a video game because it is supposed to appeal to the "broader gaming community", lol. I play a game because it is fun to me.

Exactly! That’s why GGG created PoE2 and made significant changes to PoE1 over the years. They kept learning and evolving to appeal to a much larger and broader audience, not just the tiny, whining corner of Reddit. Almost like… they actually know what they’re doing.

Going off-topic here but I've played a few games (mostly offline) that I really enjoyed but they received very poor reviews.

Latest game being Terminator Resistance. Absolutely the best terminator game I've played and an excellent shooter in itself. But when I checked the review on eurogamer, it gave the impressions that it was the worst game ever made and I was like 'whaaaa?'

Another one is Far Cry which IMO just wiped the floor with Half Life 2 and Doom 3. It was even better than Crysis at everything (except graphics).
I agree. Rename it to "Path of Exile", focus all resources on it, and discontinue poe 1...
Alternative rename to Mario Kart? Cuts all the confusion.
