I played PoE2 and it's just Ruthless but worse. They also did something since I last played, but it's still with a ton of issues. I guess they will eventually ditch the Ruthless path and come back to please the majority of their players that are PoE1. Eventually PoE2 will become PoE1 with better graphics, and they will let go of PoE1. But that needs like 10 years. So I'm playing PoE1 for now. But it's not like PoE1 has a lot of contents left, so it will lose players too. That's their choice though, I simply have to move on to another game.

PoE2’s Early Access, yes Early Access lol, has been more than successful, which seems to suggest quite the opposite of it being garbage or crap.
It is a little sad how passive negativity and doomer vibes can influence younger players opinion these days. =0[.]o=

I've opened the book. Read it to the end and found it to be wanting. Because of my time in POE1, I figured if I kept pushing forward it would eventually become fun. It was such an awful experience.

I had this exact approach and pretty much felt the same way. I kept pushing forward in 0.1 because I couldn't quite believe that this is it. Disappointing, really and by the looks of it nothing has changed either.
