You are basing your analysis based on streamers as if they were representative of the players.

You are completely wrong, it's the other way around. The newcomers that never played poe 1 and are trying to destroy one of the best franchise of all time, are in fact the tourists.

I have all the patience in the world.

I have been playing this game since 2018.

What is 1-2 more year? Just wait until all the tourists move to the next hype-game and we can have PoE back, lol.

Tourists that stays become new veterans and become like us anyway. On reddit since PoE2 launch, there have been many posts from PoE2 tourists got their mindblown after trying PoE1.

It's still a better game, a better way. And ultimately a way that have proven itself for a decade of continuous success.

What kind of logic is that?

The hardcore people who played funded and kept alive POE who were originally told POE2 was actually going to be a POE1 expansion. They have been playing POE longer than anyone who just started with POE2.

Now I know it is good to get more types of players in to help grow the game but most of the nasty comments I have seen in these forums is from the "Go back to POE 1" crowd.

Had it happen to me recently in that deleted thread. Dude straight up insulting in every response and then goes on to call POE1 people the elitists. The level of disconnect is completely astounding.

Side note, for those who want Dark Souls, Elden Ring, No Rest For The Wicked, etc. playstyles.... you can go back to those games too. But what good is that to try and push out players.

There is no reason there cant be both slow and fast builds, high damage and high defense builds, big aoe or single target nuke builds all in the game. Those who demand removal of half the play styles are either trying to wreck the game or actually care more about being a trade warrior than actually playing the way they claim to want.

Everyone needs to back the heck off and let all build/play types enjoy the game the way they want. Stop comparing yourself to every other player. Play the builds you claim to enjoy.

If a skill you want to play is too weak, call for buffs. That's what I have been saying since launch. Buff the crap skills and tone down (NOT NUKE) the strong builds. Once a solid baseline is achieved then monster balance can actually take effect instead of this yoyo of too much hp, not enough hp, too many mobs, not enough mobs, etc...

Poe2 is built on the fans of 1 keeping it afloat until they find and audience for 2,which they clearly haven't.

GGG will listen to the player count drop at some point, nobody is gonna want to play this campaign over and over again just to basically end up in a dead end game. xD Also running around like a fool trying to pull mobs one by one is not difficulty, it's boring. Zooming in ARPGs IS THE WAY TO PLAY, IT IS THE ultimate form, you want your character to REACH, your goal of the league. If you think otherwise, you gotta be a casual or something idk. Also ppl pretending PoE1 to be a zoomfest from the getgo, having 0/40, just because they see x gameplay footage and proceeding to go watch fubgoons PoE2 gameplay. It's mind boggling. xD

They will do today evening and the following days, once they release the first patch widely considered to be bad. I am also curious if making the game easy mode will provide consistent numbers as PoE1 does even on bad patches like the actual one. I mean some people have a point saying that most others will leave after one week because what do you actually do after clearing all content on day 3,4,5? Are you actually playing the patch after you found out at least 3 times that it is not for you? But I am fine admitting that they have done the right thing companywise if the numbers will say so. Nothing changed and the direction from 0.2 to 0.4 is the same, so anyone playing it and is confused about that gives just validity to that weird form of dichotomy that exists in that forums nowadays.

On the other hand I also expect some people to learn how to be silent if they cannot prove that they are the actual majority of the playerbase but instead it were people that actually hoped the game will be good one day and they just didn't wanted to give up on it. Let's find out together in one week.
