So how do we feel about The CURRENT League/Event efter a few days?

Terrible

I strongly dislike league mechanics. NO to portals!

Disappointed once more, maybe it's time to move onto something else

This league is different, I usually play at a snail pace because trade is cheaper for the items I need if I drag my feet a bit, but I'm not even in Act 8 and I've played several hours a day.
I find the Mirage mechanic to be annoying mostly bc of how buggy the UI is for controller (often takes clicking everything twice, especially cancelling) and the UI problems for controller seem to have gotten worse overall in any of the newer features esp trade. Often locks up, I've even have it buy the wrong cosmetic (grateful for the two return option but I just need to remember to just go the website instead as its safer) Breach is sorely missed but I'm glad Foulborns still exist. I dislike instanced content so Mirage isn't my favorite but I do like getting a second roll for map events. Shield still feels bad to play, Retaliation skills feel clunky and often doesn't work correctly on controller, desperately miss Reckoning and the iconic feel it used to have. 1H Axe feels better though. Look forward to Void Shockwave getting some mileage, having never had access before due to not playing 2H. Summarized: Ultimately just feels like the good and bad have switched places for me since Sanctum. Breach/Shield used to be enjoyable, now they aren't. 1H Axe/Uniques used to feel lacklustre, now they don't. Campaign used to feel like an afterthought, Now I'm starting to wish it went faster. Maybe there will be a league that I get to enjoy both, but its not this one. Hoping they bring back Reckoning and make it a reservation based shield-stance (10%) but apparently my Slayer just isn't ambidextrous. Last edited by TheVoyant#3002 on Mar 10, 2026, 3:33:12 PM

Mixed, seems I am not alone. Really thought the buff to currency was going to result in more tinks. But the rest seems much better for people like me who actually use it, rather than selling it off to buy finished gear.
That said, I am wondering why the % player drop-off was so high this league. The last league to see a 50% drop off was 7 days out, and it was the Kalandra league. Pretty sure this is a top-end player league, and the normies fell off fast, but I could be wrong. |

Yeah don't think it was ever going to result in more "tinks". They may have used players dissatisfaction with that, as par of the reason for addressing drops, but what they implemented was just smoothing out the curve with some of these middling currencies, and that has worked.
I think what you are refencing, is a lot of plyers want more stuff dropping at the top end from ground loot. Which would need either mechanics that drop more overall, or the weightings of those drops increasing in likeliness. It is a bit difficult to achieve a balance though. By nature, if they are easier to get, the "tink" becomes less exciting. I'm sure many players would of noticed this with the exalt changes. Functionally it is better, but even on the first one dropping in campaign, knowing that it is less rare for this to happen, makes the excitement of dropping it, much less of an event. So it is a tough balance, between functionality and the excitement of getting something that you know is unusually rare due to random conditions. At the top end, it is possible to see a league or a period of leagues, being more or less rewarding than others. If many players believe that this ceiling need to come down, that is probably fair enough. I think Dev's did acknowledge that, but didn't make any changes to it directly. It's a tough balance though. New players come onto the forum and complain they aren't dropping mirrors, meanwhile, kingsmarch gets added, and players start to expect this level of currency, because it is actually achievable from the mechanics without doing combat. It does seems like things got out of whack in that reagrad, with a lot of the reward inflation from mechanics that weren't directly drops, except all the magic find culling mechanics and changes that happened regarding that. I think they are looking to address it, but maybe didn't do enough specifically at the higher end this league. Whilst making some good change with what they have done. I am quite dissapointed about the league. Its not enough for me to continue playing for along time. Maybe a week more tops.
The mechanic itself is not rewarding at all. Only because of the extra mechanic you choose to invest in, its worth to enter them. It was like 4 months ago we had a league, GGG had plenty of time to figure something out that makes us keep playing for longer. Last league was a small one, this one is also a small one. Should we adapt and accept that poe will also, like d4, be a "maximum 1 week game" from now on? |

Mechanic is ok, nothing super interesting just more loot.
EU servers have 10k+ ms lagspikes / dcs /instance crashes & rollbacks since launch. Drags the whole experience down, no matter how much effort GGG puts into hyping it up. |

It's for veterans. First poe league in years and just frustrating clunky the whole way. Now I either learn 10 years of crafting with 50 different mechanics or call it a day. Think I'll save my energy for 0.5.
