So how do we feel about The CURRENT League/Event efter a few days?
|
8/10 for league.
We got a solid league mechanic, and a whole atlas rework. Ironic, but breach is awesome now, following the annoyance of breach league (keepers) The new atlas has some quirks that need to be fixed. Hopefully they bring back a static map device UI and just let us interact with the atlas map when we want to change locations. Great: -Currency drop boost -Atlas passive tree rework -Map system rework -Breach 2.0 -Astrolabs -New crafting currency (volatile vaal, refracting fog) -Kingsmarch nerf Bad: -Atlas map UI -Nerfs to blight -T17 mod pool nerf -Removal of map craft options “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

Really good league imo. 8/10
Felt a little bit like legacy league. Instead of focusing on a complex new mechanic, Mirage elevated old league mechanics. After the disaster that was keepers I'm happy that they reworked alot of things to make the game more fun again. Drops feel awesome, the new Atlas system needs some tweaks, but is overall an improvement and they finally made T16s worth running again. I like what the shrine belts offered in terms of build crafting, but overall they are way too powerful and I hope they don't go core. I like an alternative to MB for late endgame, but that's just too much. PoE2 0.4 Character:

It's been over a month now so I'll give my short review. I like the league mechanic although it is tiring (for me) and I don't do as many maps as usual. It is a clever idea, it spits out extra gold which is great and it makes you think about mechanics and which maps to use. All excellent.
I'm not a fan of the new map atlas, but that's mainly because I don't do a lot of bossing - if I did I would probably love it. It is super easy to run your favorite maps which is fabulous. But, gating all those Atlas passive points behind stuff I don't like doing is not a lot of fun and the new Atlas map is very confusing when you get to the end. And just to be clear I am fine doing some end game bosses and progression if necessary - just not a lot of it. Anyways, all is good and I continue to say thank goodness for the async trading which solved what was always the most frustrating part of this amazing game. Cheers. What have I learned from this league? Next league I will spend all of the first week or two paying for boss carries which really sucks but you need to do what you need to do. Terrible game design IMO making what should be the most fun part of the game (the first few weeks) pain and torture, tedious and boring. Last edited by MrWonderful99#4612 on Apr 13, 2026, 8:42:11 PM

Banger. Love that you can now freely choose map layouts. I never liked running the same strat over and over for a long time. Now I can swap back and forth easily without having to pre-farm specific maps. Beautiful. It is what kept me playing for so long into the league.
Add to that Mirage + Astrolabes, which allow you to get a lot of juice out of every single map. Really good if you suddenly need a certain resource and want to get it quickly. So lots of flexibility and super efficient target farming options. Very good qualities as far as I'm concerned. On the flip side, the new Atlas UI definitely needs some improvements. It's difficult to navigate in cases where you want to run specific different maps (e.g. for Destructive Play). The way the little corner sub-sections overlap with the map device and its inventory is also pretty weird and clunky. I hope some of these issues make it onto Mark's QoL top ten list :) Also, I'm still not a big fan of Memory Threads. They don't mix well with other farming strategies, so I usually end up just boss rushing the maps to get the boss invite. To me at least these feel like a chore and I have only run them twice: once for the Dread Voidstone and once for the Maven Invite. Still, these are small nitpicks. Over all it's been an amazing league for me. |

So i made a second character to play around with new minions things. And i tested trying to be as greedy as possible first with various minions + congregation gems. And i was having a blast!
And now im tinkering with specters only and lord, so many damn specters! Iv tested having 1 of most Perfect corpses for fun (its really messy) and iv really enjoyed it! I look forward to testing to stack various minions now and see where this madness ends :) ! Iv also been testing out to specc legion for the first time ever on my second character this league and well, just as with Ritual (that i tested speccing out for the first character) yeah it is really nice being able to get to do some or all of it again every map via Mirage. If PoE 2 wasent a thing a third character this league might have been a thing honestly. All these strange melee builds looks awesome ^^ (iv not played many under the years) Cant have to much Junk in your Stash

would be 8/10, except GGG seems incapable of actually improving performance. Every fix is a bandaid, every content update is a fresh new problem.
They made breach good... oh wait, you only get 5 FPS... but its goo..?d? “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
