My biggest cause of losing expensive spectres was qualitying the item the gem was in, dropping attributes too low while switching gear, accidentally swapping out the item the gem was in etc etc.

Yes my friend. This is big question and thing to check when league starts. Most of accidental dead is when you chenge something in gear and differ amount of spectres when click on something with gear.

This is insanely overdue, but better late than never.

I mean.. there is a thing called portal gem if you have this much trouble with scrolls lmao

Stupid response...

Give me one positive reason for the portal scrolls to exist.
If there is none, they should be removed.

0. Portal skill has cast time and cast on death could drop portal in not so favouring environment: instadeath after invulnerability wearing off (i.e. Sirus stormcloud)
1. Dropping in 7 places in Acts for quick progression
2. Transmutes
3. in case build is not good: get back to progress not from the start of map that is linked to point 0

I think that they shouldn't exist (but there should be a button that summons a portal in the exact same fashion as portal scroll does)

I believe that the person you quoted was meaning the same thing. Why do we have to have the need for the cost of a portal scroll. What functional benefit is there for having a cost for using a portal scroll? The only time it's even a cost/problem is in the first half of act 1; after that point you have enough portal scrolls that unless you're constantly spamming them, they functionally are irrelevant. Every league I have thousands by the end of the time I'm playing, I'll eventually remove them from my drop filter altogether. Because I just buy 1k for 1c.

Opportunity cost; it's something me and my friends discussed. The only time it is actually relevant is during mapping, but there is already an opportunity cost to that; the portals to your map which would still be consumed in the normal fashion. In the campaign acts, you have access to waypoints which are a free version of a portal scroll such that the only tradeoff is time. Saying that time is a good opportunity cost for something that is functionally irrelevant after act 1 is a poor argument.
so we dont need to keep buying expensive spectres off the trade site anymore when they die? they will just resummon?

Yes.

Will make spectres a lot better. Guessing they nerf the popular ones. Which feels silly, when minion builds can destroy content, so can other builds at that same price point.
good move in the right direction with spectres!

Was about to say... permanent minion builds capable of destroying all content are like 2+ mirrors deep into investment. Inquisitors are on higher level with a fraction of that.

There isn't. They're just catering to PoE2 skill gems. Notice how AG is still untouched even though they had a perfect opportunity to utilize a modified merc UI for it. I'll be glad to be proven wrong in a days reveal but this glimmer of hope is slim.
