Anyone notice that Breach is missing from the atlas tree? and beyond is in its place? also the essence node is missing the 2 points that give you 20% to find remnants of corruption. I am kind of worried that they are removing features.

Yes, it was probably deleted from the game and replaced by a new mechanic.
I'm kinda worried about this... :/
I think part of me is going to miss breach but the other wont

Was it even still good?
Why am I still here

Based on the purple art and all the hands on the logo (from the announcement teaser) which is very much like breach in PoE2, I'm guessing this is going to be literally breach 2.0 as the league mechanic. Makes sense to remove the atlas passives if the main league is going to be fully replacing all the mechanics. Will probably get more lore about what the breach demons are as well, as they don't have much at all even in PoE2.

Please make the change that "Armour applies to Elemental damage taken at 10% effectiveness" as a baseline for all characters i think this would help a lot for lifebased/armour builds to compete with ES builds

You do realize this would be meaningless right? Even an armour stacker with 2 million armor would see very little impact of this on elemental damage, let alone anyone running around with less. Not only that but this isn't why ES builds are stronger than life/armor.....has nothing to do with elemental damage. Additionally, some of the highest armour builds are......ES builds.

armour applies to elemental damage is very strong actually, its applied in the same layer as endurance charge reduced elemental damage taken, which is after resists modify the damage, its why transcendence was core to making armour stacker work. 10% would be ludicrously powerful, 3% on that which was taken nearly obsoleted the transcendence armour stacker builds in standard.

The biggest issue with armour has always been the way it scales, having a little bit is useless, having a medium amount does almost nothing, having a ton suddenly skyrockets your survivability against physical damage. The reason ES and EV/ES is superior to life is because vanishingly few life builds get more than 7k hp, most ES builds can get 10 to 14k ES with sufficient investment and serious stackers often post 30k+. Life has a fair few advantages over ES at its base but given that you tend to have 2 to 3x as much ES as life it suddenly swings very far in the favour of the ES builds, especially with how difficult it is to get enough armour to even just get phys max hit parity.

My suggestion for fixing it would be completely rescale how armour works so that you need much less of it for it to actually matter and make life more readily available on the tree (gear getting buffed was a decent step forwards but they nerfed life mastery a few leagues back with a rationale that basically amounted to everyone not on CI was taking it iirc), life nodes should be stronger on average because almost no one aside from strength/life stackers is going to have more than 2.5k base life, 2.5k base es is literally a max roll helmet and chest with decent gloves or boots or whispers.

Don't want to go down this rabbithole because it has nothing to do with this thread.

Your analysis is wrong. Armour is applied to Elemental damage at 10% value is absolutely awful precisely because of what you outlined. Transcendence is different: that is 100% of your armor, not 10%. That is an entire world of difference when you factor in how armour works in the first place.

If you are already taking so little elemental damage that a few thousand armour would have a noticeable percentage effect on elemental damage taken....you don't need it in the first place.

And the reasoning for that guy's post is to "fix" the powergap between non-ES and ES builds which this does absolutely nothing for. Armour is not unique to life-based builds, nor is elemental damage taken a "difference in power" metric for these defenses.

Separate argument for a separate thread.
