The issue with gold and the current market, and Ange.

If anything, GGG should aggressively ban automated trade bots. The very same ones who pay 1 div for Castaway to effectively buy gold and do nothing but flip currency 24/7.

I'm pretty sure that automated bots are already banned by GGG.

There are players, in fact a lot of real players that pay 1 div for a castaway service. You can be very mad about it, it will not change the fact that this is not against TOS. It's a service just like an Ascendancy service.

There are several legitimate way of playing this game and trading is part of it. If this makes you angry, you need to play a different game because this game is heavily built around an economy, hence there's ton of different currencies.
Wow. Tons of responses. One in particular was extremely insightful.

I think people generally disagree with the idea of being able to buy/sell gold with currency... I kind of understand it now.

At the same time, however, I think it would bring a whole new facet to the economy. Economy is extremely complicated, thus why people need to get PHDs to be able to work as accomplished economists. I think involving gold into the economy would be a good thing, overall, but I do get and understand those who disagree.

Both "running out of waystones" and "running out of gold" sound like exploits to me. Those are easily obtainable from standard use of maps.

"Running out of Ritual tablets" seems like an actual issue GGG needs to look at.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

It's not exploits. Some people just craft to make more currency. TFT isn't a dubious Discord server... GGG is well aware of TFT.

People are charging people 1 divine to group with them and run their castaway.

The game shouldn't NEED you to do things with other people in order to thrive.

The game doesn't require that. SSF exists. If you, personally, need trade to thrive, you need other people by your own choice.

I don't personally see much difference between a programmed trade bot and a human being who acts like a programmed trade bot. Especially with the existence of LLMs, system designers can only detect behavior, not technology. There's no reliable way to tell a person from a bot. So you encourage/discourage/ban behavior, no matter who or what is doing it.

Are you advocating for GGG to ban players for services like ascendancies and castaway runs?

As for the SSF argument, this is getting very old. If you love it so much, you can play that mode, I had in 0.2 and cleared all the content.

The mainstream play is sofctore trade and in this meta, trade exists, and so are services.

Conflating real players that sell/seek services with bots is some serious level of gaslighting. I'm not even sure why I keep posting on this forum, it's toxic to a level where I'm starting to legit feel sick from these redundant toxic posts.

I'm just gonna play the game and avoid those rage bait posts from now on.

???? Are there programmed bots that run those services? If so, that's news to me.

I think you're injecting toxicity into something I didn't say.

I think removing direct player to player trade would open their eyes up to how much of what goes on is legitimate. I would hope they will eventually realize this on their own though rather then having regulators step in.

I apologize. I misunderstood that post because there are really people thinking that way and I thought that you also meant it in that way. I thought you said there was no difference between a bot and a player behaving like one and that they are both equal. Now that I've reread what you've wrote I realize that it is not what you meant.

I have seen posts of people in here that want players to be actually banned for paying someone else 1 div for a castaway run and such. To them, trading should be deleted from the game basically or they come up with goofy solutions like bound on equip. Someone even mentionned that he should be able to post listing that are bound on purchase, and it's an option he can select whilst listing. This is the type of stuff I see daily here so I wrongly assumed you were trolling.

Ignoring any philosophy, I think it's impossible to ban carries. How could you possibly enforce that?

I also think people would care about these topics less if there were more to do in the endgame. Maybe once 0.4 drops, there will be other chase goals besides "Get moar currency."
