Having to pay a fee for every single shop purchase from Ange is causing a lot of wallets to be empty real quick.
At first, I thought that the best thing to do would be to simply eradicate or highly reduce that gold fee. I think, however, that a good idea would be to allow people to buy and sell gold with currency. Castaways are all the rave now, and people are BEGGING for them. I'm on the TFT Discord, and as SOON as someone posts that they have a castaway map to let you join in on for 1 Divine, it almost instantly fills up. Crafters have to spend a considerable amount of their currency AND TIME to just get the gold alone to be able to craft. It's doubly worse because buying EX with a divine costs a ton of gold, as well. I feel like the best solution would simply be to allow players to sell their gold for currency, and thus allow people to buy gold with currency. As a big crafter, and it being something that I thoroughly enjoy in this game, it's a big time sink to have to do castaways so often. On top of that, I have to find these Castaway groups via an unofficial discord (TFT). I don't mind paying currency for this gold (which is essentially what I'm doing), but the TIME sink is what really irritates me. I would gladly spend 1 divine on 500K gold, for example. I think this solves many problems and all at once, as it allows pure mappers, who don't craft at all, who have amassed tens of millions of gold needlessly, to attain more currency for their time. No. The barrier has to exist. The whole point of gold is that it's not tradeable directly
Castaway is a workaround, omen of bartering is another. They're essentially gold being sold, just not directly. This is already a huge compromise considering that most likely the vast of majority of people buying castaway are doing it to use the gold in "unintended" ways |

no, if gold is tradable then gold is meaningless and has no purpose in the game

Gold was GGG's compromise in giving us the best QoL they've added since loot filters. For over 10 years in PoE1, GGG's been staunchly opposed to any kind of trade that wasn't peer-to-peer for the sake of protecting the player driven economy.
If an untradable currency (gold) that we have to earn through gameplay is how they wish to limit us in exchange for implementing a means of freeing ourselves from price fixers, then this is more than fair and I welcome it. Bro just run some maps and you will get a lot of gold. The non-purchasable gold is designed specifically to discourage who seek profit without playing the game, flooding the market with high tier items. I wonder what you do with yhe divines/mirrors you get from crafting if you don't play, because who play don't have gold problems!

No tradable gold. Ever.
Remove the Castaway map too. Gold is extremely easy to come by, you just have to play the game. If you want to stay in your hideout and do nothing but trade - this game is not for you. If anything, GGG should aggressively ban automated trade bots. The very same ones who pay 1 div for Castaway to effectively buy gold and do nothing but flip currency 24/7.
