Love poe 1 hate poe 2

PoE2 > PoE1 already
PoE1 nowadays looks more and more like a fan-made fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.

Nope not really, look at the 500k concurrent players at launch, and the 80-90k concurrent players since 0.31 was launched, the vast majority of gamers ARENT ENJOYING THIS! if they were? THEY'D BE PLAYING THIS!

The game got slightly better, but still has way to restrictive systems to ever satisfy us PoE players. From skills gems, weapon skills, support gems. I don't know why, but even if I cook my own builds there I feel like they have been already set by the Devs for me and nothing what I made myself. The paths are so linear and it doesn't help that the game literally just has 1-2 build enabling uniques. It has a very long way to go

It's only "30%" of the way through to it's final product, which will be 1.0

That is a lot of time for major significant changes to take place, and even by 0.6 it probably won't even look like the same game it is right now

so it's still very early on for comparisons
Megabonk is proof no one wants slog games, but full dopamine and simple action.

Funny how Tencent and other big studios wasted their money on developing unnecessary slog features while some lone dude rekt them with pocket change budget xD

Our overlord Ben posted a good video in December titled "I don't understand why POE2 exists". Fast forward to October 2025 and the question still stands. If POE2 devolves into a "it's like POE1 but not really, kind of worse", then why does the game exist.


poe2 was originally meant to be additional content layered on top of poe1

i LOVED the idea. i actually wanted to quit poe1 back then but with that announcement i stuck on and continued playing the game.

then they announced theyre splitting the game. why am i even playing poe1 anymore? i would have to choose.

as a trumelee enjoyer, poe2 was meant to fix poe1. and the devs constantly made it clear that one of the reasons that they split the 2 games is to make the game more balanced and actually have considerations for melee.

the game was meant to be slower and more deliberate.

1 year later, poe2 looks and feels similar to poe1 in the sense that it all goes back to blasting the entire screen.

same here!!!! poe2 is just a boring game ,with some adds from poe 1 to feel nearly good .
learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.

Literally every mistake of POE1 is being repeated in POE2 OR MADE EVEN WORSE, most notably:

- fix melee
- zero visual clarity based on graphical design with ZERO contrast, outlines, etc.
- insane computer spec demands for no benefits (see zero visual clarity)
- getting nuked from offscreen before you can say WHAT
- all WEARABLE endgame GROUND loot is useless outside of a handful of uniques
- 20 steps of horrible RNG gambling are labeled as "crafting"
- endgame drop rates and associated systems are balanced around folks playing 12+ hours per day

Or perhaps, none of these things are "mistakes" anymore. How long can you keep going down a path (no pun intended) until one concldues that things are intentional and not a "mistake"?

Avoiding semantics, POE2 is designed 99% the same as POE1, so why does POE2 exist, and don't say to "fix POE1".

People need to remove this 1.0 from their head. It won't be the final product, for the sole reason that there is no final product. It will evolve and change each league overtime.

1.0 is nothing else than a marketing arbitrary deadline number.
