REMOVE DEATH EXP PENALTY !!!

Removing the penalty is not even about getting those last points, but mostly about providing a sense of completition about the character in question.

Then it becomes pointless to achieve it since theirs no barrier to obtain it but the time you spend in it.

It means that even a bad player can be level 100. Then it means nothing.

It's like buying your blackbelt on eBay and then you can feel the achievement of being a Karate master.

There are also leaderboard for people that get to level 100 first. If you remove any penalty on death, this also becomes pointless since anyone can just die without any drawback.

XP penatly on death must stay.

As if this game requires skill lol. Copy the meta build and boom you are "good" lol.
Indeed, 90% of the players who are "You must keep the XP penalty!" seem to be the same ones running the two or three overpowered viable builds.

Everyone else seems to hate it.

Its the biggest problem with PoE2's base, they alienate EVERYONE who doesn't like the sadism. Where most games fight against grief and trolling, here its a feature.

If you want balance, enjoyable gameplay, and a rewarding experience then play something else is their view.

Trying to argue with a community that enjoys suffering will not get you anything but negativity in response.
I think the game should be HC only. Also, if you die your computer should burn up and GGG puts a lean on your house. You should then also lose your job, catch a trumped-up charge, go to jail, and only then come back and start a new character.
Death penalty is part of the difficulty.

If you die constantly, got to rework the build, the gear, the playstyle.
Omen of amelioration makes you lose 2.5% of exp instead of 10%, if you still can't level using this, there is some major rework to do.

Some people prefer HC because of the challenge, some prefer PoE over Diablo for the same reason, you can't enter a game built for more hardcore players and complain it's tough.

What's the point of the challenge if everyone can make it?

I don't want to antagonize anyone, and I do feel for those that wail at xp loss, when I'm trying to push levels late in the game it's disheartening to lose hours of farming in an accident, I get it. I quit, I don't like it. But I come back and try to fix it - after occasionally being a thick head and trying to keep pushing into the wall.

It's not fun when it happens, but the game is built on being tough, and the nice part comes after successfully fixing your character.

I don't like meta, I often make my own wonky build, sometimes it works, sometimes.. not too much. Experiment, adjust, waste some currency.

A tough game is more rewarding when you beat it

Death penalty is part of the difficulty.
Getting one shot by something you can’t see isn’t challenging; it’s just frustrating. I agree there should be an experience penalty, but not as severe as it is now, especially given the lack of visual clarity on screen.

I agree with you, but the issue you pose is not the death penalty, it's the death itself! If you get oneshot by something unseen, it's a design issue, that's the issue to be fixed, losing exp to that is just a cascading effect.

You should lose xp if you die -> focus on not dying
You should also not be killed by something you can't see
Visual clarity is a must

I have learned to stop caring about this one. The arguments for it are not very reasonable but I can't see them changing this. Just play until you stop enjoying it and start a new build or play something else. Hitting 100 is not meaningful or important in reality.
