Omen of Amelioration exists. Use it. By the time you have to worry about xp loss they're easily affordable.
they could reach a compromise and keep the xp loss, but every boss you kill gives x% (1/2%) xp of the level (scale this value lower to higher levels)

Double it every time someone posts one of these.

To GGG : Please do not remove exp penalty, I beg you to never do it.
No matter how many threads are posted about this, if you decide to remove it, please do a poll and ask high profile players before. Removing XP penalty on death would be a step in the direction of ruination like the Diablo franchise. |

It should be removed.
Most characters are throw away and never played again after the season ends. Having them end up at 9x ands nothing to the game except keeping the player from getting the last 10ish points. Removing the penalty is not even about getting those last points, but mostly about providing a sense of completition about the character in question. |
" Then it becomes pointless to achieve it since theirs no barrier to obtain it but the time you spend in it. It means that even a bad player can be level 100. Then it means nothing. It's like buying your blackbelt on eBay and then you can feel the achievement of being a Karate master. There are also leaderboard for people that get to level 100 first. If you remove any penalty on death, this also becomes pointless since anyone can just die without any drawback. XP penatly on death must stay. |
" I happen have trainned martial arts for quite a while. Getting a black belt is about time and practice, that is all. Grinding 100lvls is about time and playing, nothing more. Death penalty adds nothing to it. |
" Yeah and some ppl take 10 years to get their black belt and some only 1 or 2 years. Penalty on death is the reason why it takes more time for bad players to get to level 100 versus strong players. You can try to spin this as much as you want, this is a meritocracy. If you play bad you will be punished. If you are not learning correctly and don't practice enough, you will not get your black belt unless your Karate school is a clown place. |
