Remove the effect of item rarity on currency drops
" I dont watch any POE2 content creators and see rarity as a problem since i started playing POE2. Its not a mandatory stat to reach lv 100 or kill every pinnacle, but if you want to compete with others in the game, not just do your own thing, then rarity becomes a stat you need. There are 3 different groups of people playing games. - Competitive - Fun/relax - Socials Im mostly competitive i see myself in competition with other people. Getting higher damage, getting currency etc. for me Rarity is a necessity. People who want to have fun and challange themself often play HC or SSF rarity doesnt affect them that much. And for the socials rarity can affect them. They might run maps as a party and have a rarity bot. Or they just finish the campaign as a group here it depends a lot. Rarity comes up a lot in discussions and it is a problem. The same problem Path of Exile 1 had. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.” Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Oct 8, 2025, 1:39:46 PM

" thats called build diversity, some ascendancies perform better than others in some particular goals and having higher survivability or additional ring slot - examples.I see it incredibly easy to get cap rarity on any class unless your unique build have uniques in both ring slots and amulet, amulet can provide 70% increased rarity just from(imolicit+1prefix+1suffix) and ring provides 50% rarity on regular base or up to 65% rarity on gold base, regular base+kalandra= 100% rarity from prefix+suffix.if your build has uniques in ring slots and amulet - you should get rarity on other pieces of gear and thats harder and what? you choosed to play build with a lot of uniques in in for what purpose? To start Magic find and open a new thread"nerf rarity"? some builds are optimized for bossing, some builds are optimized for just mapping and some for mapping with mf in it.and some are abominations which will suck at everything?thats always how it was in poe. " - yeah and after your dream nerfing rariry will become real People will go for Builds they have an easier time just performing in the goal they choose. There is always strong meta builds and weak off meta builds(in 99% of times) and if you consider yourself as "competitive player" you dont really have a choice what to play, you must play strongest possible build to show best result. Nerfing rarity will just remove fun from the game and nothing will change globally. |

the amount of parroting is insane
dps/tank is sacrificed to increase higher tier drops. this is nothing new in ARPG-land should the cap be lowered to 100, sure its a bit high, but to blow it so far out of proportion is laughable. Last edited by tdonov5#2743 on Oct 8, 2025, 2:39:12 PM

" Thats not called build diversity its hindering build diversity. By limiting efficiency of certain builds. There is no Cap to rarity. Just diminishing returns afterwards. There is a reason rarity bots exist. They make a difference. Its simple statistics here. Even a difference in a single digit percentage makes a huge difference if we go in the hundreds of thousands of drops. For example if you play a Chayula. Many people dont for various reasons (i also dont paly one). You need Original sin and then you need also 2 suffixes for Mana Leech and Life Leech on either ring or Glove. Which already limits the amount of rarity you can get by having a unique ring in one slot and used suffixes. Then you also need to Cap resistances which take a huge chunk out of the suffixes. In the end you dont really have much left to actually get rarity. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.” Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Oct 8, 2025, 3:07:37 PM

I would be fine if rarity ""ON CURRENCY"" was 90% less potent so for example 100% rarity would translate to 10% increase compared to where it is at now, essentially it would make it a meme stat but you could maybe up the ceiling to 500 for a total of 50%.
There might be a singular build that could pull off going 300+ rarity but if it only yields 30% rarity by current standards casuals and poors wont feel ripped off by it. IMO if rarity plays a huge role it should need to be a large part of the build, so far most people need to give up around 6-8 out of the 36 mod slots to hit the cap and its easy to hit. This just punishes new players and people who want to do weaker builds. |

" Rarity bots Pull off 800% rarity and 400%-500% is possible on some builds. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.”

"Honestly I am playing devils advocate and think casuals should be heavily punished for playing the game without knowing mechanics like rarity but I worry we are gate keeping too hard to the point the game will not do as well as it should. I love gate keeping and making it easier for me to trade garbage items for divs early on from new players. |

Leave it as it is. It's way better than in Diablo 2. I had maybe 1 Ber rune in 1000 hours of playing. Here I can loot divines with proper setup of tablet/waystone/equipment/atlas.
I like it that way. |

"hindering build diversity is nerfing rarity so builds that optimized for mf are suffering because chayula monk(bad designed ascendancy taken as example from "competitive" player)have a hard time capping rarity?, are you being competitive against meta builds as chayula monk?taken as example most dogshit unplayable ascendancy to have point of nerfing rarity interesting "Your farming effectiveness will drop higher than few percent difference you will get from going over 150% if you taking as example Party mf rarity bot - there is no point, people were asking ggg nerf party quantity and rarity for years, parties is still dominating over normal players. This will never change. Build diversity exist only while ascendancies are different from each other, if you want each ascendancy be equal to each other in terms of damage and defenses - game will become dogshit Instantly because there will be no chance to fail by making wrong choices by player - result will be the same, illsuion of choice with no point in it. |
