Trading Bots are destroying the game
Hi,
With the new offline trade feature the trading bots issue has gotten way worse. I've been monitoring the trade website and items appear on the trade site and in less than 1 second they are already gone. Idk how its even possible to teleport in-game so fast because for me it normally takes 5 seconds (loading teleporting screen). Is it possible that people scan the trade website and they see what was listed for sale before players can see the item by using the "live search" feature? There must be some sort of a delay. GGG I hope you'll do something about this. it's plain cheating! #GGG Last bumped on Sep 12, 2025, 6:49:42 PM

" its not perse that there are many trading bots its just that there are many degenerates who just spam the refresh button on a 4k+ usd computer and they simply load it faster than most regular people they snipe it and sell it for a higher price and make like 20-40div a hour doing this shit one of my guild mates is doing this and i dont know how he can enjoy the game like that |

can some please explain to me how they know there are trading bots? How do you actually know a player is a bot?
Saying someone bought an item quickly is not proof of anything... |

Bots do not use the client poe, they connect directly to the servers, the speed directly depends on the ping, they have no loading and human factor, so they are faster and more efficient.

" I'm waiting on the trading website, it's on live search meaning it's refreshing when a new item is listed. I'm waiting for a new item to be listed and I'm holding the mouse hovering the location of the 'travel to hideout' button. the moment the item is listed I click on the button and nothing happens. in less than 1 second the item is sold meaning someone had to click on the button wait to be teleported to the seller's hideout (this takes few - several seconds minimum) and then click on the selected item. this can't be done in one second or less. so something is very fishy here. Either there is a latency for different players and for some players the listing items appear on the live search trading site sooner than other players. or its a bot purchasing the item using the client or just the API if one exist. I dug in the internet for 5-6 minutes and found a trading bot which is illegal to use according to the TOS but I'm sure people use it. if you think i'm bs about how fast items are gone I can make a video. it's totally insane. |

The truck is to get a VPN or a server on the colo where the trade site is located. You will get the listed notification way before everyone else. You can snipe before it even his the other players. It is because of how the servers load balance. If you can be on the originating server, you will get the request before it is progressed out to everyone what

If it wasn't a bot winning the snipe directly it would be a human legally using a script to do 1 action per 1 click, in Texas (or whatever is closest to the server), on a $20,000 PC. Better to just never try to snipe high demand items that have low prices. It's not worth the grief.
