66 years old Grandma here - I have no problems at all with the appearance of the armour sets etc ingame in PoE 2, they are much better than the PoE 1 ones. Most of the MTX is meh, but there are some nice sets (mostly the ones from supporter packs). I certainly don't need them prettified or frilly/flouncey :)

I will agree they are a general improvement over poe1. The meshes have a higher poly count, texture resolution increased and there are more dynamic points that make them appear to move with the environment. But those are things you expect to continually increase with any iteration of a game.

There's a personality aspect to the heroins we chose to play in a game setting. It's my position that GGG adopted a policy of avoiding anything considered by certain vocal groups to be demeaning to women in the extreme. And as a result, we have an over representation of this style of attire, which while it has its place, broadly is unapealing to what is probably a silent majority;

I think the game has many other issues , however given that monetization is based on cosmetics , this is a very good critique and probably should be taken seriously.

So you want 'armor'. Sophita is not wearing armor. Litterally every important part of her body has no armor on it. Her femeral (inner thigh) doesn't even have that leather of her boot. Her central chest just has a thin fabric, and her head is exposed. The shoulder 'plates' offer no protection, so that's just dead weight, she's in heels, the front plate on the boot offers a little protection from her dropping things, basically just steeltoes, and the vambraces offer a very small amount of protection. You can't even argue that she's wearing that outfit for mobility, where you'd want a much tighter fit. She's dressed like that, because players want to see skin. Not because it's reasonable for a fighter.

It is, because that Conan is not pretending like the bear chest is protecting him. That ring sleeve is real armor, it'll catch blades pretty well (though offer nothing more). The rest of it is clothing, there's no 'fake' armor bits (like Sophitia's shoulder plates and steel toes). He has at least leather covering his inner thigh, and keeps the area fully obstructed to the view, offering some obfuscation to the target (where Sophitia shows her thighs off with a tiny short dress and thigh highs, because she wasn't designed to wear armor, she was designed to appeal to the male gaze). I'm not familiar with the new remake enough to say if the narrative treats that as armor, but I'm willing to bet it didn't, and the character didn't act like it was overly protective beyond a slim measure.

Old Conan (i.e the Arnold Move), when he suited up for the big fight, wore reinforced linked mail, leather backed, a sleeve for each arm and a dublet with reinforced backing. It didn't show off his chest, and he had a mounted skullcap to protect his head (though showed his face, because actors). Similarly in Destroyer Queen Taramis wore black splint mail that covered her entire chest and arms, and a great helm (though again, rarely worn, because actors). (The armor wasn't made of proper materials so it looks like cheap laquored leather in the old movie because it was on a budget and the prop department wasn't the best, as it WAS still intended to show her body shape more than protect). Her number 2 and Ring Mail, mostly leather designs (as Conan was set in an early era, so full plate wouldn't really exist yet), with large metal gauntlets, a central gut plate, and his was clearly taking notes of Mongolian armor, though definitely from someone who failed to research right). I'd also call his armor pretty poor, but it would be better than nothing, and better than Sophitia up there.

Which leads me to; Just because someone else also is bad or inaccurate, does not make other things less bad or less inaccurate.

Quit lying, lmfaoooo. Diablo 4 character models are ridiculously well done and on a completely different level.

I'm just commenting here because I can't let someone lie like that. Not saying another game is better or worse, but you can't say the character models in D4 look worse than POE2.

Can we get the Countess dress please? I'd gladly buy MTX but I'm not interested in neon Sauron. Basic transmogrification would be appreciated. Wearing the Vile Robe for a third league is getting a bit boring.
