My Wife Wants a Pretty Character
So, I'm a bit biased since I'm a bi gal. But, kind of agree with your wife. I was really hoping Huntress would be more like Countess or Asala. Or even Una.
Like, Hilda in the Interlude looks amazing to me. The new ship captain that I can't suddenly remember her name. I do like the looks of all the playable female characters. The Sorceress is pretty. Ranger is super cool. I just wish we had one of them that was more different. |

Sorc has plenty of nice outfits. Just get the pure Energy Shield chests, boots and some of the helmets. You can use the skin transfer MTX to use those models. There are some good-looking uniques too.

I do find it odd for someone to have such strong, negative opinions about the available looks for the characters yet choose to do so through a proxy instead of speaking for themselves.
Either way, the game does stand to have some MTX that's more aesthetically pleasing but still consistent with the in-game world. But one of the reasons why I keep coming back to POE is that it's one of the few popular RPGs that hasn't been flooded with cash-grab skins, collabs or gooner bait. I'd rather keep my dudes and ladies looking like they've just scrapped a bunch of differences pieces of gear together - because that's what they're literally doing in-game. The "role-playing" part still means something here. Last edited by Wucano#3988 on Sep 4, 2025, 1:18:49 AM

"Pretty" is subjective. Persoanlly I think that all characters in PoE2 look fucking gorgeous in regular (basic in-game models) outfits. To the point where mtx sets look over-the-top ridiculous in comparison.
The way campaign should be played by your second and any subsequent characters: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3772827

how about to add a skin that convert your character into a cat or a rabbit . Would this solve your wife problem ?
Because there is already the crab skin in the shop. Last edited by SaKRaaN#0012 on Sep 4, 2025, 3:57:27 AM

I think there should definitely be an option to replace the helmet with different hairstyles. For example, long hair, short hair, and so on, available in all kinds of colors. When you choose a hairstyle, the helmet would be visually replaced by it.

The big problem i generally have with the 3d artwork is that every item just feels like you put on rags or a sack or a bag.
Compare the witch and huntress artwork with how you typically look in game. If i could buy a cosmetic armor set that lets me look like the mood pictures from ggg i definetly would. |

" Clay Mage Helmet (Violet or Scarlet). The robes are pretty sweet too, but the hat's the classic Gandalf pointed wizard hat. Glimmerwood Hat if you want a more stiffened hat. As to the OP, despite your claim, the female Characters, even the Ranger (Who is classically Hour glass shaped), are pretty dang feminine in shape. Heck, the concept art for the Ranger, she's got a leather jacket that literally has a cut out for her bust. She's toned for sure, she's an archer, she has to be (anyone who for one second thinks "Bows are for characters without strength" has never touched a bow in their life, much less something like a long bow). As to the outfits, act 1 is always garbage gear. Everyone (man or woman) is pulling rotting leathers and rusted armor out of mud pits. It all looks like trash, because it is trash. By act 2, you get some brown-grey bone stuff, before it transitions into the fine blue silks and brighter colored stuff. Which, at least the caster stuff, is pretty low cut on the female models, though pretty reasonable given the culture and era. And that's what I honestly love, the vast majority of items are pretty realistically rendered. Though some of the base weapons are a little too far out there, mostly the 2 handers (Cultist Great Hammer springs to mind, or the Flesh Piercer from PoE1), it's generally stuff that keeps its feet on the ground, and draws from historical weapons, armor and clothing. There's plenty of MTX that goes for the high fantasy, over produced look, Arachnamagus, Siren, Vulcan, Pandemonium, Angelic are all pretty fem on the female characters. But if you're looking for skin, look somewhere else, that's not how they design armor. Because that's not armor at that point. " The funny thing is that the Huntress and Witch concept armor IS rags.
