Just finished Act 4 and the interlude acts. Loved it.

" What good is it taking away one button builds if the cost is to sacrifice all creativity and build diversity? I'd rather go back to having a powerful supports system and lots of triggers. Sure it means alot of players will go one button but who cares? It's way more interesting trying to figure out how to make shield charge blow up a screen of enemies, than it is to spam lightning arrow at lightning rods all day. |

I've said since launch, having your campaign be a souls-inspired ball buster is fun to play... a single time. 99% of players don't want to have to do it over and over and over again.

the sorceress infusion stuff seemed exciting, you would think you can make anything work with weapon switch and the tri-ele stuff. but nope. it's still better to just go contagion for clear act 1-2 and it's still better to just use the skills that were already good and specialize in one element. by a lot. it is just nicer for more builds to be able to use frost orb, and now you can shock stuff I guess.
ultimately the cool ideas locked behind infusions are mostly locked behind bad mechanics. "infusion reappear 3 seconds after being taken, from the same spot" what an ascendancy node. only good in arena fights and if you don't already sustain. "do x amount of damage to drop an infusion on an enemy you then need to pick up" or "wait for orb to expire" are just boring and unsatisfying ways to generate infusions. the only fun way is passive through the spirit reservation but the chance to spawn infusions is so disturbingly low that it does not enable anything on it's own. flameblast getting a cooldown because of solar orb overlaps makes it unusable without them and really weird to build with especially because solar orb is only on staffs Last edited by AverBeg7#1689 on Aug 31, 2025, 9:47:16 AM
