Separate keys for DODGE and SPRINT please

"
Is it really that hard to just tap for dodging? Sprint is only when you hold it. This doesn't seem that difficult.

Well it is when the game bugs out on you and you sprint after a dodge but didn't intend to... or your keyboard bugged out, or windows bugged out. This stuff happens, and then your dead in the wrong situation.

Just hands down would be SO much better seperated.
Yes please! Separate these.
It seems to me that it is a deliberate choice.

For some reason, GGG didn't want the players to perma-dodge in some situations so they killed it and disguised that with some QoL.

IMO it's one of the biggest nerfs in this patch, because some builds really need to keep dodging between DPS windows (Balbala comes to mind...)

Of course, if you're playing some broken meta build, it makes no difference and that seems to be GGG's goal: Meta or GTFO!
POE1 is not dead
I find myself pressing shift first when I want to sprint, so this would be a welcome change to offer an option to separate the two keys for dodge and sprint.
Please separate them, My thumb isnt as fast as it used to be. Ive died a few times because my thumb was on the space bar a micro second too long and its kind of bullshit way to die. If not than let me disable sprint entirely. This is really screwing with muscle memory.

Yeah we desperately need to detach it from dodge. Just don't hardcode it to shift at least, make it so that you can choose the key.

Exactly, If using a different key breaks the function or makes it more op for some over others than the function is flawed to begin with.

Or remove sprint and actually solve the movement speed problem?

Why is everyone trying to bandaid a bandaid? This is how we end up with garbage like the current endgame. I don't want sprint in the game. Might as well just give everyone a Rhoa mount or something. No, instead you need to fix movement speed. Like maybe inherent MS on all boots? This possibly solves 2 problems at once. 1) Folks that feel too slow now get that small boost and 2) Finding GG boots that don't have movement speed aren't automatically DE'd/trashed.

Well I agree with this too. Sprint does feel like a bad bandaid to another problem.
Agree 100%. Separate these 2 distinct functions. Most games use "L shift" for sprint and "Space" for jump. Since there's no jump required in POE2, using "Space" for dodge makes sense and has worked fine.

This dual function "Space" keybinding is awkward and frequently causes unintended "Sprint" in combat which results in stunlock and death. If I intend to Sprint, and get hit and locked, that's on me. If I intend to Dodge and enter Sprint because you forced me to play your way, that's on you.
