I gave this league 12 h but POE2 is Just Anti-Fun
50% deadeye. 3 patches in a row deadeye being the most played.
They are seriously blind to any kind of balance in this game. They make new content but dont fix the biggest problems. Are they willing to learn? My guess is now. They will just put in new shit and hope players have fun. |

Why does it feel like that meaningful and not-intended feels like a lack of planning
and testing on their side, disregarding proper QA? Why GGG has a release schedule that hurts the game development and quality? Why the fifth are Skills made like its POE 1 but we are in POE 2? Why gatekeep high-mobility-ranged-offensive-layered Skills to 1 1/2 half classes? Why not incorporate skills for melee that can explode whole hordes? Why not incorporate skills for melee that don't explode whole hordes? Why not have the two above, so both desired playstley are covered? Why does GGG think clearing with the pace of a mobility scooter is fun? Why is it, that monsters have more range and clearspeed than I do? Why is it that like 2 archetypes are viable but GGG talks about build diversity? tl;dr - POE 2 Skills are made like its POE 1 but we have POE 2 Mob mechanics. I also uninstalled after 2 days (about 30hrs played). Main issue is a lack of skill options.
I will never play any build that needs combos to kill white and blue packs in maps. Except maybe ED+Cont as at least you know the whole pack is dead after one cast. This leaves just Fireball and Ember Fusillade out of all spells in the game. Spells that deal direct damage usually have way high mana costs in the endgame so you have to solve that problem as well. Also, DoTs are in a bad place. All DoTs (except ED), require a big single hit since you can only spread one instance at a time. Poison can stack a little but requires massive tree travelling and/or Pathfinder but you can only proliferate one instance so what's the point... eg. I tried to theorycraft a build that would do both poisons and ignites with the new Blackflame node. However the only skill that might work is fireball. Flameblast cooldown is too long. Ember Fusillade deals a lot of small hits which doesn't work for ignites/poisons. Also, all the poison chance nodes are scattered on the right hand side of the tree. The only way to prolif ignites are with a support gem or Cracklecreep ring (it gives fire damage too which is useless for chaos conversion). The only way to spread poisons is with Herald of Agony or Pathfinder. More limitations. tldr; game has too few options to make fun builds. Limitations everywhere and too few skills that actually work without piano buttons. |

The biggest worry is that this is intentional game design, not early access woes. Launch, expansion and now current update, thats three instances and three examples of what sort of game they are designing. It aint early access, its intended.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

" I feel the same way, however i hope that there is a more clever plan behind this - at the moment they have a gold mine from hype rush that is attracting even casual players, specially casual whales, who mostly want the exploration, beautifull graphics, story and all this bull**** part of the game, not so much of the endgame. GGG will (and should) milk it untill the casuals stop the money inflow (which IS bound to happen, because this type of gamer will not participate in regular league launches and events, they will finish the campaign and never launch the game again). In that time they will revert back to what the playerbase wants to make the game actually fun - basically just switching from one money source to another. Remember - GGG is first and foremost business. We as players as usual will not do anything, not at least give GGG hell for not keeping up promises, for wasting our time etc., we will just roll over like good doggies, lick their balls and praise them for how they turned the game around, possibly citing something like "POE2 is the new No Man's Sky". |

" Sprinting is not that bad im actually enjoying it a bit been using it even pack to pack and some close quarters. The only things i dont like is the unability to get up if you get hit while running you are basically dead which is terrible game design. I get they want a downside but as massive as this where you are instantly dead is insane. Second is the sliding when u stop i feels way too slidy and a bit bad i dont like it. Ngl in the start i didnt like it. It takes some time getting used to. After about 15 hours it started to grow on me. But the sliding is a bit too much and the unability to do anything if you get hit is a bit too much. Last edited by Turbo#0122 on Sep 1, 2025, 8:28:49 AM

Same, I'm trying to have fun but can't. No skill options, no synergy on Monk . Melee needs buff to defense or something that allow you to fight back and not constantly running away and dying. You always feel underpowered, even on white mobs. Acceptable gear is so rare that if you get a drop you keep it, sometimes 10 lvls or more.
Who is this game made for? |
