Why MELEE FEELS BAD - Targeting, Hitboxes, Pushing and DESYNC

I was watching the druid reveal and the worst parts of it are when the bear was literally pushed around even by the smallest monsters.

This is one of the main reasons why melee feels bad and it will affect the druid a lot on release.
The worst part about melee in .3 was the abyss monster degen. I had a lot of fun on fire titan. 99% of any time i was frustrated outside of azmadi first playthrough was that abyss degen.

Range is obviously just easier. the combat is in real time. So if you want to avoid damage you can just move away from the source of damage (whilst still dealing damagae as range). Where as melee has to approach the source of damage. I don't see how that will ever be balanced equally. But I don't think the difference between range and melee is as much as some make out. Range is just simplier to setup. Stack damage and keep away from enemies (so take utility/movement). Melee requires more hoops to jump through to build sustain. Overall though I think melee builds can be rewarding for players who are not just looking to min/max.


D4 and Last Epoch have melee builds that are in the top tier and within 90-95% of the top ranged builds.

GGG just doesn't want to bring melee to that level.

jonathan said attack while moving in poe would fix melee with an animation called stab attack. if it exists its really not impactful. having a real gap closer like frostblink and/or leap slam is impactful.

To me it feels like warrior was ignored outside of warcries for the attack while moving.
Outside of some mechanical things that annoy me like getting stuck on the smallest bit of terrain with rolling slam.

Dont really have a problem with any of the melee play in this game.

You act like anyone with a problem with melee in this game is playing the game with their feet tied together.

You come into every single thread and put words into peoples mouths.

Someone has a grievance about moving while attacking, rightfully so. It was advertised that it would make melee feel better, then delivered to ranged characters and not melee. It is annoying.

Whether or not warrior is playable or not is not up for debate. Just because you enjoyed it doesn't mean everyone else did. Nobody was asking if you enjoyed it.

it functions yes, you can kill all the bosses yes, is it fun? that is the question here.
