Not really. Both versions of FB have or had roughly the same single target potential. Unless there is some build i am unaware of that actually managed to scale the dot to relevant regions there is literally no difference between them in terms of single target and after playing both, i think regular frost blades is better for clear. It's really just the absurd strike range that stands out for FBoK. I guess melee players in POE just love to be ranged.

" Meta "enjoyers" (to not use other word that would make me banned) are used to damage of those broken skills and are unable to play the game unless they find new skill that deals same amount of damage. Doesnt matter they have enough damage to kill everything 10 times in one hit. If they dont have trillion DPS, game is unplayable. |

" Did you even look at the POB? The multi mirror version of it has a whooping 400k dot damage from the skill + cold snap. It's literally just a plain strike skill with 400 damage effectiveness you see there. The dot is irrelevant. FB, LS, LSoA, WS and just about any other strike skill usable with claws would perform similarly. Besides, <100 mio dps on a multi mirror build isn't exactly impressive nowadays, never mind something that deserves cutting a gems damage almost in half. |

I feel like you might be correct there. Also i had never seen / heard of that creator before, but the way he presented things maybe he'll be worth a continued watch. I rarely look or use guides unless it's a build i've never done before and have no knowledge of. Like the one you linked. So learned some stuff there. I've been summoner main for so long so it's usualy my default regardless of changes. Then branch out, in ancestors i did a icespeartotem start which sucked ass other than killing bosses. So i rolled a FB due my friend was playing it and looked fun. So used his tree and went from there. Anyhow tangent over, it wouln't surprise me if the clip you linked is the reason. That said i don't see the benefit of fb alt over regular fb. Edit: I'll take it back that he might be worth checking out. After the other commentor saying look at the pob, it became clear immedietly. Edit: Okay i see what you mean now even on mid budget he's using the same gear pretty much. He also overinflate the PoB by checking everything - already a warning sign. " What the hell are you on about? Of course there is such a thing about "OP" in a game all about progression and choices. This has to be one of the most narrow posts I've ever seen. Let me ask you a question: If a skill got introduced today, that let you do 100 million DPS from level 1, you wouldn't consider that OP? And if you DO consider that OP, you're admitting to the fact that there should be a line drawn somewhere as to what is OP and what is not. And I'm totally OK with GGG drawing that line and not you, me or the players. If a skill/build is WAY MORE powerful/accessible than 95% of other options, it is OP. We're not talking PvP OP here, where talking OP in terms of diversity, choices and opportunities. And it's MUCH easier to balance the outliers than all 200 of the other skills. I'm not saying Katabasis is one of those skills as I haven't played it, but the premise of "there's so such thing as OP in a PvE game" is just... Wrong. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
