A Simple Poll - Exp Loss on Death

+1, why do we need further punishment on death? Artificially padding game time through EXP loss makes no sense when game time is already pretty extreme for the average player.

Bad business model?
In recent years, I have increasingly noticed that many of the players' thoughts are divorced from real life.
Gentlemen, wake up! Nowadays, games are not made to please someone, but primarily for profit. Whether this is good or bad is shown by the end result.
Should I remind you of the story of Fallout 76?
P.S. Never say never.

Ahah, okay, we'll chew it even more for you:
lvl 95: 5940 characters
lvl 96: 6305
lvl 97: 2565
lvl 98: 637
lvl 99: 122
lvl 100: 52

total lvl 95+: 15621. This leaves 58188 waiting to get acquainted with your breakthrough player problem theory.

Now, keep in mind that poe2 ninja doesn't collect character data passively yet, so total amount of characters is likely higher. While players who do use PoB2 and link themselves to ninja are the most dedicated part of the audience, aimed to grind endgame and get results. If they didn't level up higher, it wasn't for total lack of trying.

Retour: exp penalty as it was made in poe1 and poe2 is overly punishing, and softcore players are bound to repeat it due to bugs and obscure mechanics of poe combat. GGG didn't leave it without change for so long out of care for their players. Any other implementation, from global difficulty levels to reworking penalty into survival bonus would've been better than this.

No matter what you say, he has an excuse line up and ready. Pointless trying to discuss anything with someone like that, it's a cult mentality

Most of these players are players that got gears from patches before 0.2.0. They play broken builds. They spent ton of hours in front of a screen becouse they have no life. There is a category also that few people play one char to reach it fast in level 100.

I play Crossbow from the beginning. I spend ton of hours reaching level 96 by playing carefully becouse i died a ton of times during this time of leveling. When i reached level 96 i realised that Devs made further leveling almost impossible. And what i mean:

1. Xp gain dramatically lowered. If i play carefully in three months i can reach level 97. There's no discussion about leveling to 98 becouse there is actually no xp gain.

2. Xp loss after level 96 make game real hard for leveling. I played 4-5 hours a day for reaching level 96. I'm married with 2 children. How many hours do i need to spend per day for reaching 97?? 7-9 hours daily? Is that enough for you? Common....

3. Omen of AMELIORATION don't work all the time. Stop telling people that need one per instance and not 2 enabled per instance. We know that.

4. After patch 0.2.0 profi players gone for ever. So partying with newbies or unskillful players is a disaster for leveling.

5. If there's no Guild the levelling is even harder.

6. Many skills dont work properly. Some of them are bugged. ALSO there is skill, class, weapon balance issues that make some of players leveling fast and others melting the mouse for little damage.

7. All players don't play with high-end PCs. So when a player complains for lags in RTX 4070, imagine how hard is for players playing with GTX 1660 super. And yes we don't have money to buy better GPUs. We all don't live in Germany or Canada!

8. Market is empty after patch 0.2.0. Can't find anything good nowadays. Maxing gearing for newcomers is more hard. Item Drops are a joke.

In conclusion if people trapped in lower levels between 90-95, sooner or later they will quit because in current state the game offers nothing more. Les people means les profit. So there are only two ways to make people return to game. The first is abolishing xp loss, the second is reverting to conditions before 0.2.0 patch release.

As Merc crossbow player who doesn't farm divs through trade I know exactly what you mean. Most people can't afford the ridiculously priced meta gear.

Most people who try and actually grind for gear and currency, with the occasional trades, and try to use the dog$#it crafting system understand that the people claiming "the extra 8-10 points don't matter because gear" have no concept of playing the game like a normal human being.

And trade is completely broken. I had 2 stash tabs full of good items for months with less than a handful of offers because I usually don't have time to play for 6-8 hours straight. Trading is Taylor made for people with absolutely no life who can stay logged on through multiple high traffic times in different time zones. Everyone else gets left in the dust with an inflated market. It's a complete joke.

I was willing to deal with it until around level 90 and being forced change my build and playstyle for the sole purpose of mitigating XP loss that I can't recover. It completely ruined the fun.

Switched to Elden Ring and been having a blast getting my ass kicked and learning from it with the ability to recover my XP, which only makes me a better player while enjoying the experience. Imagine that.

The Omen of Amelioration is now broken and does not work most of the time. What a laugh. From XP loss to XP hemorrhage. Good job GGG!
