Agreed that qol is shit and needs serious work. But may I suggest you play hardcore for now. I can promise the majority of your current worries now will disapear.
Why would anyone outside of entertainment business (Streamers) play a C&B torture mode? Why abandon all your progress coz of a slight mistake?
Im a semi casual with 5 young children, my oldest turned 5 in January and im about to hit lvl 90 in hardcore with a stormweaver playing lightning spear with with 9.6k energy shield and 20k dps. Trust me it's a completely different experience to how your playing softcore. Try it. Its like a completely different game.

if poe 1 players stop trusting GGG and stop donations im wondering if GGG will even have the funds to develop poe 2 at all.. because even now with all the mess their income is still from the loyal players i hope GGG dont forget that new players comes and go and its the ones that for 11 years buying their support who stay and support them
Well, GGG is ahead of you... they made ppl pay 30 bucks for the "PoE2 Early Access", and with the bought packs, they made sooo much money... checkmate.

Only POE 1 players like to say that this league is doomed etc etc. Here is a fact for you guys since everyone likes comparing poe1 and 2. This league has had better numbers than any poe1 league ever. Jonathan said so himself in the last interview. Now i don't know if it is actually better than all poe1 leagues but I am sure it has better numbers than majority of them.
Having said that I completely empathize with poe1 players as I am one myself. I understand there is frustration as we are not getting our poe1 fix. Which is why we are not ready to entertain the thought that poe2 is just made for a different audience.
There is no need for doom and gloom and there is no need for poe2 to be any different that it is now. As time goes on when both games will be firing on all cylinders we would appreciate the choice we have of playing two different games. All we gotta do is wait a bit longer.
POE1 is not about to die. the fact that they are making clearly different choices in poe2 is proof of that. Ironically all the feedback that comes from poe1 players is directed towards making peo1 redundant and it is more likely to kill poe1 than GGGs natural design choices of making poe2 different. Thus retaining value of both the games.
In short I urge the community to be patient as I believe this is just a short term
disruption (3-6 months) and it would be better in the future.
first ill say that my money as PoE 1 player paid for PoE 2 development. . entirely.. so guys coming here telling me poe 2 isnt for me i have poe 1 and i should go there.. that total... ****** ... maybe poe 2 shouldnt be for you and you have elder ring .. or whatever.. . but its my money that paid for poe 2 development under constant promises and reassurances that we got from GGG which now they broke all of them..
also is it just poe 1 players not liking poe 2 ? because there are more players playing poe 1 than poe 2 . . and poe 2 started with a peak of 600k and lost most of them..
OK may be i should have chosen my words more wisely. I am not trying to tell you that at all. You play what every gives you joy. I was merely pointing our that the games are different and will largely have different audience. Obviously there will be an overlap. hey play both if like no one can stop you :-)
Secondly I think your expectations from "Your money" are misplaced. I say it with respect. Your money bought you countless hours of fun from poe1 that is it. Not the ownership of the company and its future direction. you did not spend it thinking oh you know there will be poe2 one day iam paying for that. you spent it coz you were having fun in that moment and u thought this skin looks cool etc etc. I doubt you have similar expectations from all services you pay for?
I am not very good with words but idea is there. So i request you to not take me other wise. I am not trying to antagonize you. merely stating the obvious.

PoE1 started on low player numbers and was steadily growing until plug was pulled.
PoE2 started high and dropped like a stone.
poe 1 still growing every single expansion we get more and more players .. everyone who actually gives poe 1 a fair try and get through the learning and understanding the game most of them end playing the game long term and loving the game..
on the other hand everyone who stay in poe 2 for every 2 hours in the game he dislike the game 2 times more. . and unlikely to join the next league ..
the fact that poe 1 an 11+ years old game with outdated graphic still growing and having more players in a league than poe 2
while poe 2 which chris bragged to us how every click on his mouse cost more than entire poe 1 development even with all that money spent and the very impressive graphic lose players like a record in histroy .. . clearly tell the whole picture of what players and the majority prefer.

maybe but you are missing something important. . when poe 2 was announced GGG was clearly afraid of poe 1 players not spending more money on the game MTX that they would be afraid to invest into a game that might die. .
they made it very clear then that poe 2 is an expansion to poe 2 that brings new visual to PoE 1 .. and all MTX remains . and then every support packs announced they made it clear how our support help the development of poe 2 patch!
later on when the decision for the games to be the 2 different games. . they made countless of reassurances that this will be a PoE game it would start slightly slower than PoE 1 but would be basically very similar games that ideally we will play both and thats why MTX were promised to be for both games. (which they kept that promise atlest) clearly to motivate us continue support .. .
then here we are now.. with poe 2 being a game that theres almost no chance for you to enjoy as old poe 1 player .. and poe 1 being neglected and doesnt get update for a whole year now. . i dont expect to own shares in the company i expect them to not mislead us and to keep their promises.

yes ive stated many times my opinion about "Early access" is just empty words that all it meant is that they can charge 30 usd for beta key to make money from that period ..
but is it really an EA game? or is it a live service ?
what changed? but you know what? that big money eventually runs out. . and its a drop in the sea compared to the donation from poe 1 players over the years.. and for the first time in many many years i wonder if ill buy the next packs or not. . when up till now i never had to think about it even without looking what inside i always instnatly bought all packs and all boxes

I mean this is what i am talking about. This doom and gloom stems from how things when they are in transition.
For one thing you don't know how poe2 will feel when you belly is full of poe1 . You are starving for poe1 at the moment and thus the reaction. I would again urge you to not completely discount the possibility of a better future. Have faith my frn. it all be alright

Oh get of your high horse. You payed for packs, you got their contents. Your transaction with GGG ended right then and there and they owe you nothing.

That's not how GGG's funding works. These packs are called "SUPPORTER packs" because they are used to support the development, and the content in them is GGG "thanking" the supporters for doing so.
