The Vision is TRASH.

I've had it uninstalled since last week and I'm not planning to come back not in anytime soon. Before I forget about the game I'm leaving a trace of opinion why I don't play it anymore.

Stop trying to understand anything as you do not posses the ability to. You just assume and jump to your own delusional conclusions.

You wrote that "the game will forever waste you time". If you already uninstalled then I don't know how it's possible but ok. Maybe try to express yourself better next time.
If "vision" = 0.2 then yes, its trash

I'm not arguing here. I'm trying to uderstand people who don't like the game (mostly using words like "trash", "unplayable" or "waste of time") but can't force themselves to stop and do something else.

"If you don't like it just don't play it" is not an argument but actual solution.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the OP really likes the gameplay but does not like the progression systems like loot drop rates and XP penalty, which are so bad they are outweighing the games strengths.

I agree. GGG should focus on what POE2 does best - namely gameplay - and, at least in EA, loosen up significantly on the unnecessary death punishments* and very slow loot grind.

*Though personally I was fine with the 1-portal system, but despise with a passion the XP loss.

Im afraid 0.2 is just the beginning...after seeing all the screen clear/movement speed/zoom build nerfs from 0.1, 0.2 introduced 1-2 builds that can screen clear and move relatively fast, mainly LS huntress. Guess what will be 100% nerfed next instead of buffing the other things back? They just for some reason want to create a game where the objective is to kill 1000 mobs per map but have that take 20 minutes and have each white mob be a unique and deadly challenge so you have to hyperfocus 24/7.

In addition, they seemingly dont want to increase loot (even though now the same content takes 20x longer) because apparently its so fun for everyone to hyperfocus all the time and get absolutely nothing for it. I dont understand it but thats very much Jonathans vision for some reason if you listen to him...Strikes me as that kind of guy that plays ARPGs at a pace where he killed every single white mob per zone in D2 and picked up every white item and inspected it carefully, selling them to the vendor or stashing them before moving on, thus taking half an hour per zone and thinks thats the only "right" way to play that everyone is "supposed to enjoy", thus eliminating all the faster options we had to play the game in 0.1.

The game was still challenging in 0.1 btw and it still is in 0.2 even if you play screen clear builds like LS (most bosses can one shot you, most on death explosions as well) but it doesnt matter. If you dont enjoy the game in the same way that he does, youre playing it wrong and your ways need to be "corrected" via nerfs. You should crawl with Temporal Chains, take hours for each tiny progression step, get next to no loot and then you must enjoy that. Thats the vision.
I think the game is designed to irritate the players as much as it is meant to be enjoyed. Everything from the infinite amount of bumps people get stuck in the maps to awful amount of unnecessary clicking required to play is designed to get players physiologically INVESTED in the game.

This is what I have realized having played it for so many hours and this is why we see so many people always cribbing about it after playing it for thousands of hours. There is a plethora of posts that start with i have played 1000 hrs but this is wrong that is wrong and there is often a irritated undertone to the posts. The game is designed to edge the player and take advantage of compulsive tendencies of human nature.

Under all the hoopla di la that is the vision. To get you INVESTED.

Before u attack me I am mere explaining the physiological hack behind it i am not in support of it or against it. Unfortunately such exploitation is common practice in gaming industry for a while now, having said that there is definitely value to be had here. Just need to be aware and use the game not let it use you.

Had a similar thought.

When he said that "there is no regal orb problem yadda yadda", I immediately had someone in mind who full-clears every single zone, ports out to sell/disenchant every single item, and then things - no issues.

This season has been the easiest to progressively gear up for me. There's a big wall between "good" and "great" gear but "good" gear is handling content just fine, lich ascendancy is a proper tanky build for mostly pennies

The compromise is it's not especially outstanding offensively but even then, I'm clearing most maps in maybe a minute or two longer than I was clearing them with my 0.1 herald chain monk and I'm dying way less

There's a bunch of problems with the endgame with regards to variety but I'd say player power is in a better place this league than 0.1

Regal sustain is an issue, they really need to go back to tying currency drop rate to difficulty rather than rarity
All I can say is +1

The Vision TM is slowly but surely destroying this game, has been since 0.1 dropped. Me and many others already tried to voice their feedback before but it was for naught since the game was the perfect, best ARPG of all time according to all the tourist gamers back then who have now disappeared and will never come back because they did the campaign once.

I ain't wasting my time with this game unless some big changes happen, a campaign shouldn't take a new player multiple days to do. Ever. Maps and zones should never be huge labyrinths, you should never have to walk at the speed of a snail while backtracking and doing a walk of shame lmao. Its like they intentionally designed this whole game to waste your time for no reason. I'd rather go play something like LE, or you know literally any game that is fun and respects your time instead of having pointlessly cruel punishment and CBT mechanics for doing 1 small mistake. There's a reason steam reviews are mostly negative right now, and its fully deserved.

The exp loss thing and their stubbornness to keep the amount of portals per map restricted is just one of the many problems that completely sucks what little fun the game had left right out of it.
I cant wait to see end game but so far every changes in gameplay system they made in poe2 , thinking they would improve the leveling experience, they made it worse

-gem system
-attribute requirement
-overtuned boss
-salvaging and disenchanting
-skill combo vs monster speed

If you compare with poe1 , all the new changes have more drawback now than what they wanted to improve , in computer science we call that regression lol

Aside from that , music , animation, dodging, boss fight is amazing but feels like a game you would play once and be done with it.
Last Epoch is the Zellers version, what a boring game that is. You can get a character to lvl 90 in a day playing this game, with zero help from anyone, if you know what you're doing. It's actually quite quick compared to other games. You don't have to stop at level 8 and run Tristram until some arbitrary level threshold where you can move on to the next area. The pacing is good, you finish the campaign and get very fast XP while mapping, until around level 88 when it slows down a lot.

The vision was a tad extreme, but the developers have been receptive to feedback and are making changes to meet somewhere in the middle.
