Steam is going balistic

Well... I think the question is... what is their target revenue model?

You can have million players and get bancrupt if they don't spend money and just consume resources.

The feeling I have is that GGG going for a small very hardcore group that will be spending money on skins, packs, etc. To realize this vision you need a small group who will be very attached to the game and just be willing to buy. Say you have 20,000 super-core supporters spending $50/month on it. That is $1m per year

The alternative to this vision is to have MANY people who will buy little (here or there) and entice them to spend little more with new stash tabs, maybe make some premium QoL features. To make that same million you will need 200,000 people to drop $5 per month.

Now comes a calculation... what is more realistic -- convince 20,000 people drop $50/month or risk alienating them by making game maybe little softer and create 200,000 community willing to spend $5 or more....

I don't have the feeling they went for a small hardcore group. The presentation of the videos before launch of early access tells a very different story. Also 1 million copies sold. My god. Also it will be free at launch, you know? There will be much more players when it's free. Think about that.
I agree. But they are not making game that speaks to the 1 million players... that is the problem.

if we take recent Steam reviews only 36% of reviews are positive. And also in Steam you cannot just click "Dont like" button you have to write a review (you can click "like" button). So actually 36% maybe optimistic.

So... only 36% of 1 million people like the game. Your player base dropped big way. If so many people don't like... that means impact on economy, impact on trade options, etc... a cycle that makes for average Joe or Jane even harder to engage ...

Do you want to be friends?
I think we are hoping that GGG will open their mind and bring back "Path of EXILE" rather than "Path of VISION".

And if they don't... well... there are alternatives. LE will get better. Maybe we still get some life of PoE 1
I cant be friends with perfect individuals like you. I will sit in with the commoners.

If you think you know so well maybe you should apply for a job at GGG.

TGGG has stated that they would rather have a smaller community that is passionate about the game to keep the lights on. POE 1 had a community size of about 80,000 people. That kept the game profitable for 10 years and profitable enough to make a new video. POE 2 should have similar numbers once the dust settles and GGG can make good on ensuring leagues start every 3 months for both games.
