Before POE2 was released everyone was dunking on D4 for being too easy
Nice post. Provocative without being offensive.

" Thanks I've been honing my craft after being placed on probation 3 times
I like how hboi says "you don't have to play op meta lightning spear, I'm playing the other op meta build and doing just fine!"

" Its really not overpowered. Build lacks single target damage. I'll be exploring other builds after defeating all t4 pinnacles
POE2 currently is trying to do everything at once making all the experiences worse than they should be, They want to make a power fantasy ARPG with souls like elements but then balance around a trade economy like its an MMO which results in a terrible solo experience which no one is going out and using the variety the game offers instead pushing a majority of players to use what the strongest at the time in an attempt to resolve the games issues.
People are frustrated with the difficulty because it feels overly punishing and without reward, your reward for doing a 20hr campaign where your build is boring and at its weakest is the ability to go spend 100hrs looking for bosses in an insurmountable endgame experience where if you die you could lose hours of progression from a mob that feels like it is cheating. A majority of skills in this game feel underwhelming and like its a wasted effort trying to get them to work, mistaking difficulty and challenge for a lack lustre experience where your actions are not impactful only leading to frustration and why everyone is just going to build around the strongest skill at the time. Attempts for bosses should be obvious who is going to fight a really hard boss for the first time knowing you have limited attempts to learn its fight while playing and risk losing the boss loot when you could just google everything and outsource all your information so you mitigate the risk, most people would rather learn through experience not through google. |

Almost like there is a sweet middleground
You allow people to flesh out their builds and then pile on challenge when people choose to. |

" By that logic, lightning spear deadeye or amazon isn't op either because they're squishy. There's a reason the build you're running is the highest picked in both HC modes, 2nd in sc ssf, and still 4th in regular SC. I just watched a kitava kill t1 xesht in sub 20 seconds, and another one took longer on t3 but also ate every single mechanic in the fight without dying. Much like the lightning spear builds, Kitava plays a very different game than many of the other builds. Last edited by Lord Pinkleton#8277 on Apr 21, 2025, 9:31:52 PM

" Theres a different kitava build that is much more powerful then the one im playing. I think you may be confusing that with the one I am playing. Plus I dont look up guides I just do my own thing
" A vast majority of them all use leap slam/bone shatter for clear. So, what exactly is your build? |
