New players were already complaining how difficult POE 2 is, and while I don't agree with them on that point it is how they feel about it.

They just learned that the game will be even slower and more difficult.

Why would they stick around?

And many POE1 vets went back to POE1. The streamers and content creators will come back to POE2 for a while because it's their job, but they likely won't stick around for long.
Lol what. Who besides people with one arm were complaining about non-existing PoE2 difficulty? The newest ARPG I've played is D2 and I've said many times that even D2 is much harder (dying-vise) than PoE2. I died 3 times in the whole campaign (2 times to scarab surround in Act2 pre-fix, 1ce to Doryani) without having any idea how to play this game. And endgame as it was in 0.1.0 is 1-shot fest were everything dies before reaching you. There was literally no difficulty in the game and I don't really expect 0.2.0 to change it much either.
People who are complaining about "difficulty" either played a different game or just completely break down at any slight possibility of dying in the game wtf
Many Skills have had their base damage and/or damage growth per level rebalanced. Most of these changes are not specifically mentioned below as the changes are too widespread.

The main ones we were curious about are listed, there will be plenty of skills to build with, you guys can obviously read!? Crazy builds got the nerf hammer but thats not a bad thing.

Spark was realy fair build. I could understand the nerf of certain mechanics, but not the complete destruction of the build. This build had the smoothest progression, which always looked like this: either you are ready for the next level of dps/survivability or not, farm more and get to know the mechanics of the build better. I have played 800+ hours on this build and every time I raised my dps, it was not a matter of a broken build, but a matter of understanding priorities and scaling character characteristics. This patch is a joy killer for me. Ty ggg

You guys poaching Blizzard devs or something? You could slow the game down just reducing dmg numbers and multipliers, killing entire builds when you don't have many to begin with is a bad choice imo. More delay to grenades is stupid. What's the reason for more delay on curses? Bloodmage still forces you into nodes and still sucks, would have potential but you're forced into take 4-6 nodes leaving zero creativity. Acolyte is still the biggest joke ascendancy in PoE to date imo but they got no help. The biggest disappointment was taking every single unique that was exciting to find (at least once anyway) and level with and made them worthless. Why even waste time making them? Ingenuity would've been good at 40-50% so you'd trade belt slot for the equivalent of a ring. 20-30% it's not good enough to be a boss drop, I guess it's on par with the rest of the trash bosses drop. Hammer of the Gods is the most interesting skill you have and you choose to force heavy stun support to occasionally maybe use it but this is the worst thing you could've done with it. You literally ruined your best most unique skill. good job. Hexblast also got some really dumb changes so now you curse, wait, wait more, get a drink then hexblast meaning it's not viable to build around. Just remove or rework it.
Ranger will get the biggest nerf as always... I have a better idea, just delete this character 😂

Sorc is dead AF though, since the vast majority of dps was in Archmage, which is at least 6 times weaker while costing more mana, may be only some forst build with cast on crit will still do something.

not really, radius is nerfed + monk only ascendencies without POTCG will be viable as they halved the staffs stats and other nerfs. everything got absolutely obliterated. its going to be really rough on alot of people. unless you get the heralds armor. and can stack spirit elsewhere but still cannot condone this level of nerfs across the board. i imagine they will have less numbers they would have other wise if they just learned to build a game and balance people correctly (means minor<<<< nerfs and slightly more then minor buffs where needed as needed) instead of the super major nerfs and super major buff of the arbiter of ash etc.
great changes, finally will look like a challenging game
