Content Update 0.2.0 -- Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt

There's a very good reason that people slammed Chris Wilson for 3.14 and Archnemesis to the point where they were forced to walk things back and start making a game for the players that play it instead of the devs.

What Jonathan wants the game to be, and what players want the game to be, are vastly different now. Thank god for all the twitch streamers and youtubers screaming at GGG to make the game harder, slower, and shittier. They had ruthless before, and they yelled enough about PoE 2 that they got exactly what they wanted and now even they don't want to play this mess.
U THAR, LET ME BEND YOUR REAR FOR A MINUTE
Sekhema/Sanctum enjoyer
This is now just a life flask spam simulator, nothing more.
poe2 worst game ever, bored, slowly
Regred spending money on this shit boring game. NOTHING is fun here, only endness suffering.
Man.

Logged in to do a rare T3 map now that there were multiple portal attempts..

Died the first mob pack.

Felt slower and did less damage, and up failing the map barely 30% complete. Come and check patch notes..

"
Arc no longer deals more Damage for each remaining Chain, and Chains 6-8 times at Gem levels 5-20 (previously 2-5). Quality now provides 0-2% more Damage for each remaining Chain (previously 0-5%).

Stormweaver
The Force of Will Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides 1% increased Effect of Arcane Surge on you per 25 Maximum Mana (previously 15 Mana).
The small Mana Ascendancy Passive Skills no longer provide 4% increased maximum Mana, and now provide 12% increased Mana Regeneration Rate.

Archmage now causes Non-Channelling Spells to Gain 3% of Damage as extra Lightning damage for each 100 maximum Mana you have at all Gem levels (previously 5-6% at Gem levels 14-20). Non-Channelling Spells now cost an additional 6.7-6.1% of your maximum Mana at gem levels 14-20 (previously 5.35-5.05%). Quality now provides 0-10% reduced Reservation, instead of granting Non-Channelling Spells Gain 0-2% of Damage as extra Lightning Damage for each 100 maximum Mana you have.

Yeah, that explains a lot. 20% less cast speed and who knows how much less damage on Arc. Archmage nerf only makes it even worse. Using mana tempest and power sigil felt like it hardly improved that much.

Also mana costs seemed way higher, especially on orb of storms (400+), but it wasn't listed in the notes so I have no idea. Could just be a side effect of having a bit less mana now and archmage costing more.

Meanwhile, lightning bow skills all got buffs.

Lightning mages were overtuned, I guess? Thought spark was the gross offender.

Was excited to play again and actually get through endgame (as I rarely ever did in PoE1), only to have the hype punched in the face. Prefer not to start over again until acts 4-6 are in the game, and really don't agree with the "new league" mentality in the current state of the game (unfinished EA).
I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.

12 jewel sockets removed... totally sucks!
Now, past update it is crash bum bac game...ctg
The GGGs have outdone themselves this time. 3.15 the great weakening? No! 0.2.0 is a great weakening. Killed everything that could be killed. Yes, they gave a lot of new support stones, but most of them nobody will use anyway, because it's just pointless. Special thanks for the Archmage. Yes, he was strong, but you could have weakened him instead of killing him. All it was necessary to make 5% extra damage for 100 mana, but no, the only buff for mages through selfcast and that is more unplayable. Not to mention that mages are still sitting without runes and without quality for staffs/wands. Thanks. I won't even mention the drop and broken mobs anymore. Why? GGG don't want us to enjoy the game. They want us to suffer or just not play PoE 2. And the sad thing is that the new atlas tree and endgame are interesting. They make you want to try them out. But to play this piece of broken code absolutely do not want to, especially when the developers treat their players like this. Thanks for the update. Please don't kill PoE 1 with something like this.
Poe 2 to Poe 1 on first season. Vomit
Was very excited for this patch to be honest. Key word WAS. With all the nerfs to virtually everything that was enjoyable previously and nothing new that looks interesting/powerful enough to replace it there's no reason to come back. Big fail here GGG, big fail.

I understand that nerfs are sometimes necessary for the balance of the game, but hitting between 80 and 90 percent of the things people enjoy with Significant nerfs is not a good strategy. None of this even mentions the Enormous nerfs to player survivability which just make the game feel bad to play. There's also the skills you straight up *Removed*, taking away key defensive options, because you don't know how to balance it at the moment. Normally this wouldn't be much of an issue but it's exacerbated by the lack of defensive options and utility present throughout the game.

We won't even discuss the bad feels from taking things away from players who worked hard for them, like my current monk with 200 hours on it, that is almost certainly completely unviable at the level it was at now thanks to all the nerfs you've pushed out.

Also stun and crowd control mechanics on players just don't feel good when you have no way to really mitigate them, taking away player agency without something to balance it is not good at all. For example right now, the way your changes to heavy stun read is simply this. IF YOU GET HEAVY STUNNED YOU DIE. It's that simple, lock, stock and barrel. That is not something enjoyable it leads to more player deaths, and of the most frustrating variety since there's nothing they can do about it, and it heavily involves a hidden bar being filled up as they take damage, so you can't even predict it to try to mitigate the mechanic.

In short, you fucked up.
Do Better GGG.
