I hate to say this but - It's boring.

What I find fun in either POE is build making.
I did like 4 in poe2, and also 4 on phrecia. I skipped Settlers (normal one) Usually I make 1 build per league, last leagues (before settlers) I was going for 2 builds only... The campaign is a flat, but has a flavor to test if you are going on the right direction, and makes you learn about the building you build... So... try not focus on it, and try finding what you think is best (or not) |

I mean, yeah, that's almost certainly the case.
Every game ever has its peak at the very beginning, there's just no way an update is going to break the peak of the first few days. Even if the game was amazing and flawless, that would still be the case, because there would still be tons of people who played the game on launch and then just figured it wasn't for them. The game might exceed it's peak again at some point, but that's going to be a long time from now. It'll be sometime after the entire base game is finished, and it's had a few successful leagues that build up it's reputation enough to entice new players again. That's how PoE1 grew from a tiny EA game to a game that sometimes got 200k concurrent players on league launches 10 years later, and that's how PoE2 is going to have to do it too. It doesn't get a free lunch just because PoE1 was popular. |

Agree its boring but for me it is not for the reasons you mention.
POE2 for me would be to find a few hours in a week to try out new characters, new ascendancies, etc. but it gets boring pretty quickly. Why? Core Game design and Vision 1. Generally slow, painful and sluggish movement all through the game. No Speed -- No quicksilver, non-existent movement skills etc 2. Add long winding circuitous layouts especially endgame maps and contents (MY GOD THAT IS BORING) 3. Old content packaged and marketed hard as new. I mean seriously in endgame what is new? Same old breach, delirium, essences, atlas, skill tree, sanctum, ultimatum etc. overlaid on little crafting options, long useless circuitous layouts, slow movement speed + movement skills, needless/braindead difficulty (improved a bit after trial rework and ultimatum rework but has it changed that much only players can tell) 4. I am not sure the new gem system adds anything new or exciting to POE1.. Apart from acts, ascendancies, gem system what is really new and exciting? I am not convinced the widely marketed active gameplay.... Slow Painful Sluggish and Boring.... Perhaps it is more for players that have no life outside the game/game is life and can devote countless hours every day enjoying the slow pace, long-winded layouts, keep headbutting the trials/ultimatum for progression and enjoy the leisure of carefully planned slow and difficult progression in the most exciting game content -- TOWERS. I agree I am constrained by time i have to play this game but in POE 1 there was always a desire to push for more squeeze a few days here and there as it was exciting as the game supported a faster and more efficient gameplay. |

" I mean you said so yourself, the campaign is just the introduction tutorial, so what does that have to do with enjoying the end game? ( You can enjoy the endgame and hate leveling or vice versa.) not enjoying campaign does mean they could/woulld never truly enjoy poe.. it just means the campaign wasnt enjoyable for them. ( oh and im not saying the campaign actually sucks, just saying for the peopel that did not enjoy them Last edited by ZaruenVoresu#5823 on Mar 31, 2025, 6:13:28 AM

I think I might just stay in Standard 0.2.0
No doubt the economy will be shot, and I'll not be able to buy anything. But it's not that different I expect from what players in SSF do? I've got nice gear. It's not the very best as recommended on the build guide I followed, but since I'm utterly destroying everything in level 15 maps anyway it'll likely do me for another 50-100 hours. Assuming I can face that ofc. The endless mapping is boring-as. I've only found one citadel, can't see another one, and I'm already 5-6 scrolls away from the starting point. It's not like I can even see which way to go; it's just monotonous one-directional progress. Might look up some guides on crafting to see what that's all about, since I've never had time to do it before hand with league resets (POE1). It'd be nice to think too that as a casual+ player there'd be a realistic chance of fighting an end game boss at some point. |

" I try it again: Someone that is quitting the game because of the campaign, will never be the kind of person to do the endless grind of the game. It is a mindset issue. Regards www.twitch.tv/marloss_live

Crazy, I think the POE2 campaign is so fun, minus act3. If only other ARPG's had bosses like Count Geonor.
POE1 campaign is really zzzzzzzz though. That game is really about deleting the shit on screen with complete disregard to what that shit was. |

" Many, if not most people do not enjoy campiagn will probably not make it to end game. Only a minority of people will endure going through significant time for something not enjoyable, to be able to enjoy the good stuff later. Thats why the first episode of a TV series is so important, first chapter of book, the first 30mins of game is important, or first 2 mins of a youtube video. If you cannot gather interest within an expected time, you lose the consumer. And thats assuming the end game is actually enjoyable..... Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Apr 1, 2025, 5:13:13 AM
