Most of it can be summarized in bad loot drops, crafting rng, too much rng with maps or towers and it being a chore, bad exp with ascendencies, and xp/map/loot penalty on death. Thats like 90% of all the complaints.
I'm following feedback closely. Only last 2 are often complaints. But these are minor and easy to fix. Problem is much deeper and lies in core game design that resembles POE1.

Items do roll, and they do roll in different combination.
Problem is that 80% of the combination available do suck at this point.
Life? Sell. Reduce Requirement? Sell. Life leech? Sell.
Armor? Sell
On top of that, tier roll is crap. Playing thousands of T15 maps and for the most part collecting low ilvl affix is pure insanity
So basically you are saying you want best gear in 3 days of grind. And what after that? Nothing. You will quit the game, unless you are RMT trader. The essense of ARPG is not getting loot fast - but getting it slow, because this prolongs the game. If you want it fast - there is D3/D4. Absolutely terrible games in itemization aspect.

To be Honest, i think the MAIN Problem is not the Balance, poor Trading System or non Communication... the real Main Problem is, i´ts not Satisfying, no Dopamin Push, no "Fuck yeah" when something drops etc.. i think you know what i mean.
Ex, Div, uniques, rares.. 99% of it is trash, 0,9% is for trade and 0,1% is sth you want to use....
I want to Play the Game, but it won´t let me have Fun with it. And yes i know how to juice maps.
A game that only feeds on your dopamine is an addict game. The other things are absolutely necessary for a well balanced experience.
That's my main gripe with this game. It lacks a balanced experience overall. Too much emphasis on long term player retention using unhealthy game design practices. Not enough on the actual enjoyable parts of the game. The things that make ARPG's, ARPG's.

Yup. It's really bad. And yes we still have lemmings that support GGG at all costs. I don't understand these types of people.
I mean Diablo 4 still has over 150k active players, and this game was supposedly the "Diablo killer". So far, it's looking like it's going to be the other way around.
The 2 main problems IMO are 1) difficulty curve and 2) ridiculous trading system.
1) They can fix the difficulty but making it EASY at the start, and then more difficult as you move towards tier 15 maps. As it stands, the game is insanely hard to start fresh, with Viper Bitch in act 3 causing probably 100k+ players to quit. Yet if you endure and make it to the endgame, the game actually gets too easy once you are geared. This is incompetent game development.
2) The trade system sucks and the devs need to be forced to implement an auction house. This can be done with the website. Simply add an option to the website to force buyout, requiring a linked account which will be mailed the item. Currency is withdrawn from your currency tab (required), and the purchased item will be mailed to a mailbox. This prevents price fixing and scams.

Answer to whim you replied to first, I agree with point 1) 100%, act 3 is a tiny bit too hard but before it is too hard and should be as you said … not easy but challenging rather than hard at the start and maintaining that challenging feel as you progress. After act 3 is on a reasonable build too easy at the moment, but fully expect acts 4-6 to fix that.
To answer yourself, I agree, the loot is horrific. There is no meaningful crafting system that you can save currency and use 5%+ of drops and some basic crafting bench (not the how it is in PoE1 currently for sure as that’s too much for a new game) ould help, out with this a massive amount.

Do you realize that fun is different for everyone?
If you think the the problem for most people is just the loot drop - you delude yourself.
Loot and content deficiency are as my main concerns, balance needs some tuning for the huge outliers but otherwise would be wasted time before all classes/ascendancies are in (causing balance issues again and then need them balanced again). Deal with bugs, loot and content first and then balance is my honest preference.

for myself, I don't mind playing for months to get the gear I want. What I do mind is that this is being gated by punishment mechanics such as the XP loss even when the game is being played as SSF, which I think is just ridiculous.
I understand why this is the case, but if GGG is afraid that giving SSF players any advantage will lead to abuse when players will do SSF first then migrate to Standard carrying all their delicious loot, then remove the migration option. This will let SSF player's enjoy the game without feeling severely punished for putting in time playing the game and leave the rest of the game the way XP loss enjoyers want it to be. It's that simple.

His point is accurate about the loot, it’s not that we want best gear in 3 days, it that we want incremental upgrades in a good play session and it’s just not happening. Current state of game the only ways to get upgrades in endgame are to use omens (which are rare and very expensive) or buy the items on trade which are also overly inflated prices due to divine utility/ rarity disparity.
I agree with your reply to his first point that complaints are mostly about class/ascendancy and xp loss being some of the top issues raised. Xp issue is imo a non-issues as some love to the class/ascendancy issue would solve that (if your gear and build is good you die a lot lot less). Sure there are some outliers (both too strong and too weak than need tuning into the median) but balance would be wasted man hours aside from the outliers at this point, until all classes/ascendancies are in the game.
Bugs, loot (basic crafting bench imo), outliers fixes (NOT nerfs for the too, powerful but fixes to the issues making them too powerful, like for freezing bosses a higher boss freeze threshold and a re freeze cooldown for example) and bug fixing are top 3 for me.

On your second point I refer to my previous answer.
As for addictive gaming, I think every game dev/company aims for this as they want the game to be popular and for a long time. Especially so in live service games such as both Poe games.

I have also quit (though didn’t take me 2000 hours to figure out to do so) but will definitely be coming back for each major (like 0.2.0) patch to see how it progresses for 2-4 weeks.

Agreed on loot, but as for xp penalty I believe if it exists for one mode it should for all modes. The issue of advantages for SSF is that (not sure if you can in poe2 yet) you can (in PoE1 and we can assume eventually if not already in poe2) migrate from ssf to trade league at any time. In short they’d either have to make ssf a permanent choice with a small advantage or keep it as is to maintain the migration option.
As I said in earlier reply loot is an issue and a top 3 one for me as well.
