A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players
Let me add to the chorus: This is damn disappointing.
POE2 story mode is very good. I look forward to both new zones and character types, but the end game is boring and souls-like (which I hate) and I don't expect that souls-like design philosophy to change. This means it will never be what I want. A mixture of POE2 mechanics and POE philosophy is what I want in the end game for POE2: A boss in every map, Waystones to determine tier, 6 portals and 5 deaths on softcore, no requirement to locate and kill every super unique in the map, better map design, balanced characters that cannot one-shot bosses. POE has a decent story mode and a very good end game. Don't take this away from me. I love the leagues in POE and come back time and again for the new mechanics. If the souls-like philosophy isn't removed from POE2, I won't be participating in leagues there. I will treat it more like an RPG with a set story line. I'll play it through with various character types and then be done with it. POE will keep me coming back for the leagues (assuming they don't abandon it entirely). |

" That's easy to say as a new player. Imagine supporting and funding the development of PoE2 for years with the promise that the game we love will not be affected and still be supported and then they do a rug pull and say "oh we haven't even touched PoE1 yet because the PoE2 players are unhappy with an EA having bugs." Personally this lying and prioritizing has made my decision clear to not support GGG anymore from this point on. This could have been prevented by delaying PoE2 and sternly letting the PoE1 team do its thing with an ironclad rule of not pulling them toward PoE2 even if they are needed. But we can clearly see where the priority is and that is with the short term money of selling the EA. So I disagree with your statement that our patience will be rewarded, it will simply be abused for more monetary gain. Last edited by Roaias#5353 on Feb 1, 2025, 11:16:42 PM

In a way I'm glad their support sucks so bad that 62 days and they still can't figure out how to unlink my steam account so I can buy EA for PoE2. Since they want to treat the players that way, they don't have to worry about ever getting any of my money.

Very deceiving, to say the least. Why not release an event, like previously done in similar scenarios?
Make Krangled passive trees, unique per account, with unlimited respec points. Every "favorite map slot" and Ascendancy point unlocked also allows to swap 2 small passives in the tree. Every voidstone allows to swap either 1 big passive or 2 small. It's an afternoon of work for an experienced dev, and would make so many of us satisfied until we have a real league... What a Horrible message, quite pathetic honestly.

" PoE2 is built on the same engine as PoE1. lol. The game engine isn't different, they just keep building on the same spaghetti code from the first game, with improved, higher res models and skeletons. PoE2 is a lazy cash grab, and its sickening they abandoned their flagship title for short term monetary gain. I ain't coming back ever because of this. They might as well be Blizzard at this point, just without the ability to make polished games. |

Damn, I think I still prefer PoE a tiny bit over PoE 2, but you guys still put other multi billion dollar studios to shame so keep it up! Urah!
