A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

so many people foretold about this scenario and now it begins. I'm sure it will start up again, but keep in mind, we didn't get any guidance at all of when these milestones are targeted for in the future (poe2-2.0, etc, etc, etc). No future at all. I miss Chris, as it all seems to have gone wayward when Jonathan took over the person in front person.

I suggest people to cut their expectations regarding anything poe 1 related. That version of the game is now on maintenance mode. Unless they hire another 30 devs to work on it what exactly do you expect a handful of devs to accomplish with it.

Being quite new to Path of Exile I am fortunate that I have plenty of undiscovered content to keep me engaged while the developers do their best to get their team restructured, so that they can prevent fires instead of putting them out. Given the free to play structure of the franchise it's clear to me that their decision to shift all focus to PoE 2 is a decision made for the people that play it, and not made with some type of money grubbing mentality. The team is human and that's awesome, lol. Sometimes it's difficult to predict exactly how the cookie will crumble. I know a lot of the PoE diehards are not pleased, but I believe the dev team is dedicated and our patience will be rewarded with their gratitude. Thanks GGG.

It's really unfortunate but not at all surprising. It should have come much sooner though as most thought we were about to get the announcement of the announcement for 3.26 end of Jan. So much of GGGs future rides on POE 1 continuing to be the best ARPG on the market; sure POE 2 will eventually become great, but they're so different that you can't abandon what made you successful/great to begin with. But its important that we realize that's NOT what's happening here, simply poor planning and management. I have faith that the two can indeed exist with 3-4 month leagues simultaneously in the end, but this was handled so so poorly after so much warning and fear this might be the outcome.
