A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players
You sold out to Tencent and still don't have the resources to meet your obligations. Wild.

" You haven't even gived us a Christmas/newyears gift such as a mystery box or anything... 0 love for your poe players base this year, all you've done was squeezing the lemon as much as possible and giving nothing back in return. After all what to expect from such a small indie studio like GGG. #Amateur |

Cannot say I'm suprised, I saw this being the most likely scenario since before PoE2 got its last 3 week delay.
Although the expectedness of this does not eleviate the dissapointment. I suspect the lack of an announcment for a temporary (legacy/throwback) leauge is because it's not in your interest for the two games to compete with another. Of course in reality they are and should be viewed as such and thus both be given a chance to compete. Removing developer talent from one is halting the competition. A fitting quote by Oliver Cornwell, "He who stops being better stops being good." If this is the case I dare say PoE1 is already dead, its just not announced yet. A few people have already lost interest after 8 months, a few more left because of this, and even more will move on to greener pastures in the coming 4 to 6+ months before a new leauge comes along. Some will pop back in, but after such a long break it will not be the same. The players will have formed fond memories of the game and when it does not live up these memories that are not founded in reality they will simply quit. Even if it is the best leauge of all time its nigh impossible to compete with a rose-tinted memory. Another famous quote fitting amongst the shards of broken promises, "An aspirant can afford to be promising. An emperor must keep those promises." I will remember he who uttered those words fondly. |

Sad, sad times indeed.

Moving all devs to PoE 2, a game still in very early stages, seems like an odd move. The game needs at least one more year, maybe even more, to reach its potential.
Ignoring PoE, your main game, is a bad decision, which will hurt you in the long term. Good way to alienate your most dedicated players, gg GGG. |

It seemed like he broke down crying like a dad who failed his daughters. Hope he can feel
Better after taking such a beat down from Everyone including himself. Lets just hope ggg can get rid of exp lose on death so they can redeem Themselves. And have a better crafting system. |
