Shame on you!
First of all, I have been playing Poe1 for years with over 13157 hours of active play time and Poe2 with ``only`` 525 active play time.
You have chosen Poe2 and are letting Poe1 bleed out without expansions and manpower, the future is a temporary end.
Instead of taking care of Poe1 first, and not just for the gaming community and fans, which is what made you big, you have put everything into Poe2. Although it has EA status, classes are completely missing, stability and bug problems. This is ABSOLUTELY OK for an EA status game, I have fun and I enjoy Poe2, don't get me wrong.
But to neglect the basic pillar, Poe1 like this, and to disappoint the loyal fans and gaming community of Poe1 who played for years, and to put it into an ``addon``, that's how it was planned to put Poe2.
Unfortunately, my fears seem to be coming true, especially the new seasons, races and the mass of new adventures that you have created and programmed with a constant reliability that has made you the hack and slash giant game forge.
It's crumbling

If there's one thing that GGG has truly become like Blizzard, it's how the forums are brimming with egotistical maniacs who believe they speak for every PoE1 player, and feel BETRAYED by the absence of the new league. Not to mention they conveniently "forget" that PoE1 is entirely playable, with servers up and running, a bustling economy, all that jazz.
Reading through the tears and gnashing of teeth, you'd think PoE1 was shut down and your cosmetics were burned in a digital dump fire.
Are you guys truly unable to express your discontent without resorting to such grandiloquent displays of frustration?
Yes, I think he got a point there while you got none. Just out of my personal view that is.

I feel abandoned and beyond disappointed. They're not only not giving us any league, but they're also not running any events or anything for the community. I've spent multiple thousands in poe1 as it always felt in the past that the players mattered, like GGG valued us. I don't feel that way now.
Poe1 leagues are something I've come to depend on over the years for my mental health, something to sink my time into to avoid thinking about how crap the world around me is. Poe1 to me was more than just a game, it was an escape that i could keep coming back to year after year. So this hits hard.

Honestly I was skeptical when they said they would have both games going at the same time, should hace trusted my guts, in the end they have to sacrifice one to ensure the other lives on. Hope they make the right call

Honestly sounds like its time to hire more developers. More content to maintain = More staff. I've been trying to express this at the company I work at too. Should be splitting the talented/veteran devs at GGG between the games and throwing a handful of new qualified devs under them to learn and keep the schedules on track. I can't imagine with all the supporter packs being purchased that you cant afford them, even if temporary.
PS - WHERE IS MY MERCH? I'm still waiting for it. Just throw it in a box and get it over here. Thanks.

It's good that you openly talk about the problems you're facing and your plans to address them. That's why I'll also openly share my thoughts on PoE 2.
PoE 2 took away my favorite game with all its intricate mechanics, and in return, I got some unfinished game where I dislike everything so much that I can't even pinpoint what I dislike the most. Maybe it's the gameplay speed, where you have to move super slowly across the map, and this issue is exacerbated by the fact that the maps are huge and you often have to backtrack. Or maybe it's the character progression, which feels erratic (thanks to the ruined gem system), swinging from complete helplessness to total dominance. There’s also this unclear separation of mechanics, 3-in-1, and currency fragments scattered across different NPCs. The mandatory click-to-refill flasks and the complete destruction of flask mechanics. The complete lack of loot outside of bosses and rare mobs with a ton of modifiers, which consequently means no loot outside of Breaches. The absence of step-by-step item crafting (not talking about Mirror-tier items), replaced instead by identifying items with exalted orbs.... and many more...
But hey, at least we still have PoE 1, which wouldn’t be affected by the development of PoE 2... they said... right?

You cannot realistically expect GGG to perform miracles. In context, POE 1 has less than 8000 peak players on the weekend while POE 2 has 170k on weekdays.
If you owned a company and 95% of your customers are buying your new product, you put ALL your resources into your new product. What you don't do is allow your new product to fail because +-5% of your customers are nostalgic about "the good old days".
People saying "I told you so" is like saying it is going to rain in England in January. It should have gone without saying, POE 2 is POE 1 2.0 so in essence it is the same game. Additionally you get to carry over ALL your POE stash tabs and even cosmetics eventually. This has never happened in the history of gaming as far as I know.
The developers are being honest and giving you realistic expectations which is rarer than rocking horse shyte in 2025. They didn't blame the players and call them bigots for XYZ.
Honestly for a beta POE 2 isn't in a bad state. The performance issues are strange as identical hardware are having no issues and serious issues respectively, even using the same drivers ext. Low end PCs sometimes have no issues while high end PCs are having issues.
The crashing issues are a mystery, I have done a bit of testing and personally think the one issue lies in outdated bios (or motherboard hardware) as it is the only hardware variable that can cause both bottlenecking and RAM errors which cause crash to windows, data corruption and PC reboot.
Alternatively but more common than many think, when people build their own PC, like upgrade their ram or GPU they accidentally grease the gold plated connectors (gold fingers). This is why professionally built PC's are made in antistatic environments. This skin oil/grease increases the resistance of one or more of the connections to the motherboard and as RAM (for example) uses extremely low voltages any change in resistance can cause all the afore mentioned crash issues, especially crash to windows and hard crash.
These crashes are far more prevalent in high intensity CPU operations as heat induced into said gold plated connectors increases the connectors resistance even further causing system instability. This will eventually decrease the signaling below the data detection/correction threshold and make 1's into 0's causing errors beyond the PC ability to correct for it. It is the opposite of thermal runaway in semi-conductors.
This will effect two identical PC's with identical drivers and windows in the exact way described in the forums.
What I am saying is GGG cannot account for the subjective randomness of personally built PC's. Building a custom PC isn't as easy as plugging in the bits and installing and OS & drivers. More factors are involved.
GGG said that PoE 2 early access would not affect PoE 1, it has.
IF we had a full release of PoE 2 and GGG announced they would be scaling back on PoE 1 then that's fine, and I would expect that GGG would outline how that would be done. Instead we have a partially finished game that needs more development time and no real idea of when there will be any new content for the fully released game.
I jokingly said earlier in the thread, with my tinfoil hat on, that this feels like a money grab by Tencent but honestly it does feel like that. If so, GGG have been put in a position by their publisher where they have to split the studio between two games that have audiances with high expectations. This is how crunch culture happens and the only winners are the shareholdrs. Tencnt knew how hyped up PoE 2 was and that they stood to make a load of money from the early access.

That's fine, I think you're wrong, and neither of us will lose sleep over it.
The OP doesn't speak for me, but he sure tries to. Not to mention, he's just an example; my statement was broader. Anyway, my main point is about the PAAAAAIN that seeps from this kind of post, bless their little hearts, not about them being fundamentally wrong.
