If there's one thing that GGG has truly become like Blizzard, it's how the forums are brimming with egotistical maniacs who believe they speak for every PoE1 player, and feel BETRAYED by the absence of the new league. Not to mention they conveniently "forget" that PoE1 is entirely playable, with servers up and running, a bustling economy, all that jazz.

Reading through the tears and gnashing of teeth, you'd think PoE1 was shut down and your cosmetics were burned in a digital dump fire.

Are you guys truly unable to express your discontent without resorting to such grandiloquent displays of frustration?

So either PoE 1 is dead with no player base compared to PoE 2 OR it has a "bustling economy".

Either way the PoE 1 player base is expected to lower their standards and shut up about it.

You could learn something from Diablo 3 actually - recycle leagues. Simply take two popular leagues from the past, something that happened like two or so years back and throw them in. Something good, not like the Necropolis nonsense. Players will still be pissed but have something to do.

Get team working on poe 1 immediately. Poe 2 has sooo much time needed before it will be "ready" that it makes zero sense to postpone development of poe 1 for it.

There is shitload of people waiting for poe 1 new league, are you aware of it? All my mates who tried poe 2 quit it - and all said it is shit. Some more dramatically, some less, but none really liked the game. None came back to current leagues in poe 1 and just desperately waiting for new league. I doubt that in new poe 1 league will be playing less players than in any previous one. I would not be surprised if it had actually more players than ever.

You will be making millions changes in poe 2. No problem to go slow and steady... Postponing development of poe 2 till final realease by few months means pretty much nothing. Postponing development of live game with standard 3 - 4 months league cycles to 8 - 10 months is just massive fail.

Let's face it... you will be doing most changes in poe 2 which people are asking for... I have zero doubts that game will be way faster and way more rewarding eventually. Way less punishing with shit like one portal. Simply way more entertaining. Having at least some crafting in arpg is also not a bad idea at all. Unless you like dropping numbers far more than needed. How many players quit so far? 70 - 75%? And numbers ofc still steadily dropping, right? I think poe 2 has lots of potential but soo much work needed before it will be playable and enjoyable that if it will be at least somewhat done in one year from now i will be very surprised.

Mainly... Competent and capable person in charge is needed. Someone who knows what is fun and can identify priorities. Someone with ideas and "visions" which actually make sense. Having some charisma would not hurt either.

Sooo... Thank you Jonathan for your hard work and get out. Let's put in charge someone who can take things to next level - meaning release poe 1 new league and eventualy make poe 2 fun!

so u devote ur intire dev team from poe 1 thats a finished game with tons of fans to an unfinished game thats still in early access. not only that u took money for it "from some players" and made multiple promises and none of those came thro. how about u keep developing on PoE 1 thats ur finished game and do PoE 2 as the side project. would make way more sence delaying PoE 2 "aka unfinished game" rather than PoE 1.

PoE1 will be just like WoW Classic — a niche game, likely successful, but niche nonetheless. Not due to GGG’s lack of support (we hope), but because it will be a natural consequence of PoE2.

You know this, everyone with two neurons that communicate know this.
