If Blatant Display of Boosting/RMT Doesn't Get Punished Im Never Taking the Game Seriously Again

"
The exposure of having this game seen by millions of potential future players vs your supporter pack purchase.
GGG has a tough choice here. I'll be sweating too.

Yes i know people like me were just stepping stones for them and no longer have value in the grand scheme of things. But as an early supporter this type of behaviors saddens me deeply and i don't think Im the only one.

But we also don't know how short lived this exposure will be compared to the core player base. On top of that they most likely will expend more money doing RMT than in game, its know that these type of people buy less MTX for multiple reasons, their spare money is obviously going onto items/services and they don't want to load their accounts of cosmetics on the fear that they can lose everything if GGG ever changes their mind or catch them.

What's next? Him using Maphack or autolog on stream? this is setting so many bad precedents.

When you die on Hardcore, you gain experience.

If people openly admitting to it, tweeting it to millions, being live on TV while their character is mapping have no repercussions I doubt I will ever buy a supporter pack again.

My drive to play the game has been lessening since GGG was radio silence about the topic but i understood they were weighing all the free publicity as a really though tradeoff, but after yesterday i feel like I'm gonna take a break.

After such a display of abuse is public the only outcome will be that any new players coming from this will thing that the leaderboards are a joke and that RMT is the way to go about, and you know what? they will be right because apparently you can shout it to the world and nothing will happen if your bank account is big enough.

Why do you even care about it? Just play the Game? How does it affect you? I dont get it....

wow great contribution, thanks! matter of fact, why doesnt ggg just start selling the best gear to people for real money! maybe we cud be allowed to buy level 100 characters in hc! leveling is for chumps and poor people, lets just let rich people start at level 100 and bis gear, that sounds really fun and like a really good idea!

For this specific case, ignore it. better for your well being. Life is never fair
Sadly GGG are not their own bosses.
They have some kind of editors or something like that. Maybe 4 things.

They would not be the first .

If you're GGG, would you do a business analysis on this? If so, do you think GGG WOULDN'T know this?
If GGG knows and is constantly observing the trend, wouldn't the educated guess be "this short lived exposure will outlive any 'core player base' that left".

Remember, 'core player base' will also "forget and forgive" and come back in a few months. Just look at successful companies weathering through "boycotts" by just making great products.

If GGG can make bank from exposure of their game through richest man on earth to then make the game better by a fair margin. I think it's a win win win for GGG, player, richest man on earth.

Remember, GGG is not a charity or activist group, it's a for-profit business. In business, influence is a commodity. If you RMT without providing value (influence) to the business, then of course you're gonna get weeded out. But if you provide value while RMTing, then there's room for negotiation. This is the real world, not utopia.

Side note. I feel that PoE community have a... die hard attachment to the game similar to hardcore Apple fanboys. It's kinda... unhealthy imo.

I think its the opposite, a lot "12year" player are older now. I have critic on many things in poe2, but its a EA. GGG will have a lot of work atm, just relax. One tip i can give, dont go forum or reddit that much.its like in real life ... the loudest guys ,are the ***** guys. ;)

GGG has never, once, posted about a particular banning a specific person. So they are not going to tell you.

All this talk about "Integrity", where were all you when Belton had far more evidence on TFT????

I am so tired of crocodile tears, most the forums kept your mouths shut about a massive problem 1000 X worse which effected nearly every person and the very economy of the game (TFT), but not so much a pepe out of nearly any of you. Elon on the other hand has had next to no effect on the economy, almost no one has been effected by him, and you would think the world was on fire.

Oh please, "the forums" care nothing about game integrity, if the TFT issue got half the outrage Elon has something might have been done the first time Belton proved there was RMT going on. Instead most of you mocked him and supported TFT.

/SARCASMON "If GGG doesn't do something they have no integrity" "On the other hand I stand with TFT, pure as the wind driven snow, (please tft don't ban me like you did Belton's entire discord just for being in his discord, I really love you, if I get banned I won't be able make thousands of Divine anymore TFT)
/SARCASMOFF

This is nothing but selective outrage and moral grandstanding.

its kinda dumb for them not to ban "he who shall not be named but has publicly admitted he should be shamed"

its just free publicity for POE2 at this point. They could even tweet him and say "you're more than welcome to make a new account and do it for real, "if you're gamer enough to do it".

If I ran GGG we would 100% be doing this, and making a tweet about it to farm publicity.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
