Some cards and uniques are giving hints. The Lover card says:
I wanted to give you three things. I've given you my eternal love. I've sung to you my most beautiful song. I'd have given you the moon last, but it couldn't be found. I hope you'll accept this instead.

It is the scene that Daresso gave Merveil the Star of Wraeclast, which made of virtue gem and later corrupted her. It indicated the connection between moon and gem.

On Moonsorrow wand it says:
Cast into darkness And trapped for a thousand years, The lonely moon weeps

On the card The Lunaris Priestess, which dropped at lunaris temple, it is says:
Embrace the Light, Await the Morrow, No more Spite, And no more Sorrow.

The scene is a lunaris priestess holding a moon, which fires projectiles in a nova.

The cards can be redeemed to Sire of Shards, which says:
That which was broken may yet break.

the staff looks like a moon with some tears like projectiles around it.

And there is a Splinter of the Moon wand from Descent Champions race league, it says:
Into darkness, horror, madness... So goes the descent.

Also considering of vaal people calling virtue gems tears of Maji, it is very possible that Maji means the moon and tears of maji means splinters or shards of the moon, which are actually crystals. If this is true, then it seems that the moon exploded like a nova thousand of years ago for some reason. The moon crystals dropped on Wraeclast and caused chaos and corruption.

On the card Lingering Remnants, which redeems vaal temple map, it says:
Never dying, yet not living, Endlessly they wander beneath the harvest moon.

The scene is vaal people sacrificing human lifes under the blood moon. Vaal poeple knew the origins of gems, thus sacrifced human to the moon.

What’s intriguing about your post is mana sponge moonstone ring. To my knowledge it is an unfound item in Poe 1.

Right away in your post it says “I would have given you the moon but it couldn’t be found” probably an elude to the fact he wanted to give her the mana sponge moonstone ring.

The artwork also eludes to a stone version of the moon in someone’s hands. And when you turn in the card for the staff it says “what is broken can break further” a probable indication you have taken a bad action route of the quest and to repair it means starting over.

After about an hour of thought into it I concluded that the name “Mana sponge Moonstone ring” is an anagram and the only actual hint.

The best I can do after 15 minutes of anagram work is “gone maps an one moon string” I however didn’t play poe1 and don’t know anything about the lore.

Though I will add that the tail. End of the art does look like a map of different areas separated.

If it’s possible to get this item in poe1, the lore and reasoning behind how and why you get it is probably also embedded in the Poe 2 secret quest.

I realized Lunaris and Solaris are represented in Poe 2.

Also Finn is one of the old gods, the first ones. There is an argument for Renly being one as well. From una’s own admissions it seems she loves Finn and he has kept her by his side for a long time. She doesn’t seem to be a first one/old god.

Also just cherry on top for you

The winter wolf skull that gives 10% cold res is the relic of lunaris

The other optional quest item that gives you 10% fire res is the relic of solaris

I know this was a lot to read, doesn’t change the degree of validity and literal proof on concept already alluded to by the designers of this game.

And yes I did half solve Mana sponge Moonstone ring in like 15 minutes. Without knowing any Poe 1 lore or ever having played the game. Btw the quoted post I have above is from 2017. Nobody solved mana sponge Moonstone ring = the mythical moon ring until I came along? Is this reality? I’m trying to work on this as a community. I’m not trying to disrespect the community. But I have no reason to take people’s disrespect on topics they literally can’t have meaningful negative opinion on.

Let’s face a fact, the only people who can tell me I am wrong are GGG and I openly welcome them doing so.
I’m not afraid of being proven wrong, but the operative word in that sentence is proven. If people can troll using negative emotional logic the community doesn’t stand a chance.
We are not the same, it’s okay. I’m sure you are great at things I’m bad at.

Embrace the light, await the morrow is legitimately telling you “stop and think before you act at this step” indicating that this is the pivotal moment of the hidden story. Where most will fail.

I was never part of the poe1 secret quest community. You guys have me now, I can do this with the right assistance rest assured. No riddle is greater than my comprehension unless it’s poorly designed.

If anyone wants to drop an info drop of all the known poe1 secret quest stuff I’ll read up on it. Otherwise I’m not interested.

Anyone who is interested in joining in on this PM me, I am building a guild of dedicated members

I knew there were secret quest in poe2 when I realized the abandoned Rhoa in act 2 is an unused asset.

What qualifies you more then the people from poe1? Lol

Not throwing shade on the abandoned rhoa idea but I would assume it's unused because it's gonna be where you get the rhoa mount skill that was teased in many videos.

See my above post partially solving mana sponge moonstone ring
That quest most likely would involve having to leave sin hanging on the tree,
technically we don´t need him because of wisdom scrolls.
Therefore finding a way to bypass Grimtangle queststate via waypoints could be the only possibility.

And to solve the Lachibach triangulation i henceforth decree a new challenge within this topic:
- Lets no longer allow the usage of straight words here.
- No prime english words shall be used.
- Only respond with curvy words.
