Request for Investigation Into Possible RMT and Boosting Activity in PoE 2
There have been growing concerns within the PoE2 community about the possibility of real-money trading (RMT) and boosting affecting the fairness and integrity of the game. If such activities are taking place, they would be in direct violation of the Terms of Service, and it’s crucial for the development team to address this.
In the interest of maintaining a fair and competitive environment, it is important that any suspicious accounts or activities are thoroughly investigated. RMT and boosting can undermine the achievements of legitimate players and disrupt the integrity of the competitive scene. A fair system, where success is determined by skill and effort, is fundamental to ensuring that PoE2 remains an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all players. I trust that the team will take any concerns seriously and investigate accordingly, ensuring that all players are held to the same standards, regardless of their public profile. Addressing these concerns and taking appropriate action will send a strong message about the commitment to fair play and the long-term health of the community. Thank you for considering this request and for your continued dedication to preserving the integrity of the game. Last bumped on Jan 21, 2025, 8:29:27 AM

Competitive game? The only person you should be competing with is yourself? I don't know... maybe focusing on what everyone else is doing is ruining the fun for you.

I dont think there will be any investigation since most streamers and high lvl players are doing it. Its like PED's in sports: everyone at the top is using.

" There is a mode already if you want to mostly compete with yourself only, Solo Self Found. Trade league is a more competitive mode due to being able to interact directly with other players and friends. Nevertheless, PoE is not a game you play in isolation in general (especially due to the fact you have a ladder in every game mode) so having a social and competitive component is basically a fact but how you engage with it ultimately depends on your individual temperament. |

Yawn. Way better things for them to spend time and energy on. RMT will never be stopped, it's like the war on drugs.

" I don't think you should generalize to such an extent as I don't think it's as widespread as you claim it to be with most steamers (especially because it's very obvious and easy to spot in a complex game like PoE if you stream most of your gameplay). Nevertheless, it still happens and if there is enough evidence that warrants an investigation it has to be dealt with like with any other player. Last edited by Zoddo#3014 on Jan 9, 2025, 5:25:36 PM

" I know there's SSF. Thats what I was suggesting to OP.... This isn't a competitive game. There are people who are competitive about the game.. but it isn't a competitive game. No major tournaments, no professional teams as far as I know. It's all just ego and bragging rights. |

" I disagree with the generalization that PoE 1 or PoE 2 are not competitive games, as both titles offer numerous avenues for competition. There's competition in trading, resource management, leveling, speedrunning, completing content, and more. The fact that PoE is a multiplayer game opens up these competitive aspects, whether it’s within a group of friends or on a global scale (which is why the /ladder command exists). If you’re not interested in these forms of competition or don’t find satisfaction in them, that’s perfectly valid and in line with your personal preferences. However, to claim that PoE isn't suited for competitive play simply because it doesn’t align with your own way of playing and enjoying it or because there isn't an "E-sports" scene like in Counter-Strike misses the point. Your view of the game doesn’t reflect how everyone plays or enjoys it, and it certainly doesn’t make your style of play the only valid way to enjoy the game.
