PoE 2 Latency Spikes?
I literally cannot play the game anymore for days now, my hide out has insane latency spikes and so have almost any map, sometimes it's starting half way through a map. Please can we at least get a statement GGG?

This issue is the worst... I've tried everything over the past few days including:
Switching to ethernet, swapping Vulcan/DX12, running in admin, changing the network adapter to 5ghz, editing the config.ini, switching region, etc. I've even tried the recent technical post on reddit's suggestion to use the NVidia optimizer.... The behavior is almost exactly the same - when i switch to a different zone or die the latency bar will go crazy. Spiking up and down over and over again until its basically unplayable. No other issues with any other apps or games... just POE2 |

Got the same problem. I usually have around 23ms but on some areas it spikes every few seconds to around 1000ms. Resetting the instance helps but it only works in the campaign. When this happen on a map, map its wasted, can only open another and hope it will be stable. In 0.1 and 0.2 it was not so common. Maybe 1 in a 10 maps were wasted. But in 0.3 its rare to find a map with stable ms. I have fiber 300Mbps. Poe2 is the only game I have such problem with.

I had the same Problem.
For me it was the RIOT Client running in the Background. Maybe you guys got the same software or another one running in the background causing the problem in poe2. For me it works now without problem and i dont have to play anymore with my hotspot. |

Same issue here. Have had large portions of days without being able to play at all. Sometimes the map is spiking but hideout isn't, and even if I come back hours later or switch servers, the map stays laggy. I've lost a few maps and exp bars this way. I've never had an online game be absolutely unplayable for hours and hours every day like this. Extremely disappointing and frustrating compared to every other online game I've played.

After days being unable to play and trying a lot of different things, i was finable able to solve it. Just used ExitLag and instantly fixed it. Got even better ms than before, when was stable (from 60 to 40). Just download and test it, it's free for 3 days, no payment info needed on registration. Hope this helps someone. I know how frustrating it is to have extremely high latency on this game, while everything else is working perfectly fine.

there is no need for any external snake oil tools without first validating what the actual issue is. Measure according to the official guide ( see https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1377789 ) and give them the results.
If you are on linux or use WSL2, you can use MTR directly, WinMTR is just a port of the same tool for windows. Last edited by sl4ker#2559 on Oct 2, 2025, 9:51:06 AM

On 10/1 I was running my third assentation, Sekimas, on the TX server. I started getting lag spikes, turned on the graph and saw spikes as high as 3000 ms. This made the game unplayable, and ruined my attempt, after completing over 60% of the trial.
I had similar issues with the DC server not to long ago as well. Being in FL those are my best options for a low ping. Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 w/ 32gigs Radeon RX 7800 XT w/16 gigs Fiber connection avg TX/RX 500/850 I have changed in game settings to make the game smoother over time. Vulcan drivers, native screen 1080, and run the Hyper RX setting through the AMD software.
