PoE 2 Latency Spikes?

Subject: Fixed Extreme Ping Spikes (20k-40k ms) in PoE 2 - The Network Throttling Registry Fix

After days of troubleshooting everything from Steam overlays to DDU driver reinstalls, I finally found the solution for massive ping spikes in Path of Exile 2.
If your ping is jumping into the thousands while your internet is otherwise fine, it is likely Windows throttling your game's network traffic.

The Fix: Disabling the Windows Network Throttling Index
Windows has a built-in mechanism that throttles "non-multimedia" network traffic to prioritize media playback. In PoE 2, this can cause the network stack to choke, leading to those insane 40,000ms spikes.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Press Windows Key + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.

Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile

On the right pane, look for the entry named NetworkThrottlingIndex.
Double-click it and change the Value data to ffffffff (Hexadecimal).
(Note: This setting is "255" in decimal, which completely disables the throttling.)

Click OK and restart your computer.

Result:
Before this fix, my latency was unplayable. After the change, my connection is rock solid with a maximum variance of only 3-4ms.
I hope this saves someone else the days of frustration I went through!
Nope doesnt fit anything... Still 17 o'clock the game fucks me up with spikes of death... Discusting... Still no statement from GGG, but nerf Tempel... pffff...

hey so we were having the same issue with latency spiking randomly causing the game to lag. Saw someone mention about changing the wifi settings and heres what we did:

we went into
1. Device manager
2. Device properties on the WiFI card eg Intel Wi-Fi 6
3. then advanced tab,
4. then under property select the 802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode
5. Then we changed that from Dual band a/b/g to just 5GHz 802.11a (which was at the top)
6. Click ok and start the game

its working perfectly now for us! woo hoo

This worked for me surprisingly. Thanks.

Bump for anyone in the future - goated fix!!!
