Optimization? Ryzen 5600x 3070 32 gb 60 fps lock. Fps drops to 30-40.
New fix - go to C:\Users\your_username\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2 then edit poe2_production_Config.ini . Just make sure that before editing you made exact copy in same folder in case of bricking anything.
My settings are: " After that I can play 1080/60fps without huge drops, only busy cities go under 45 fps if there are over ten people for whatever reason. If you have MTX with multiple particle effects, also take those off. Did pull at least 70 mobs and fps went to 50-55 instead of previous 1-3 with dynamic culling blurring everything into 16 pixels. You can further edit few lines, at worst game will overwrite it to defaults. https://keik-keik.carrd.co

So, there is absolutely no reason for me to updating my system. Because i have no fps issues on my monk. But my necro frost mages are absolutely fps breaking build. I just watched Ghazzy stream, he has :
MB: MSI MPG B650 Carbon WIFI CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D 4.4 GHz 140MB GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4080 16GB SUPRIM Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z5 (6000MHz) (Black/RGB) Storage: Kingston - Fury Renegade PSU: Fractal Design - Ion+2 Platinum Cooling: Fractal Design - Lumen S36 (RGB) This is x2-x3 much more powerful and much more expensive then my config Its very expensive and he has absolutely same framedrops to 45 fps even not at breaches. If smbd interested in this, u can check his stream... I cant understand such bad optimization at 2024-2025. So i have no chance to play witch on minions with stable 60 fps at every game mechanic. Smbd can tell me smth like that "stop watching your fps, just play game", but it's not just about the numbers, it's about how I perceive the gameplay and frame rate drop with my own eyes |

Yes if you play a geared necro even on a 5800x3d with a 4060 using dlss I struggle to maintain 30fps in maps, if I swap to say my monk I can sustain 50+ fps. It is completely build reliant and how much visual bloat is going on, hence why having a top tier PC might help, but in party play and with certain builds there is no way people are maintaining 144+ fps on mid range PC's. This was a problem in PoE1 since forever too.
I play with a friend using a 7800x3d and 4070ti and he has to lock his game to 60 fps for a smooth experience, he can't maintain even near his refresh rate with a necro in the party and drops below 60 sometimes too. So yeah, do not upgrade your PC unless its at least 5 years old, but if you have a mid range PC within the last 4 years and you have no problems in other games, think carefully before you spend money and rather wait out potential performance patches during EA or play a less visually demanding build. |

" Last time i played poe 2 5 days ago, waiting for optimization fixes. And yes, minions are destroying fps. On my monk i have fps drops only on hard maps with breaches / burning ground and high density( 2 heralds crush 2x screen ) and it drops to 50-55. Necro drops to 25-30-35 fps :D I hope they will do smth with game engine soon. Cant play with such fps drops. |

dont play with max shadow and GI? those are resources heavy

The game is horrible bad coded.
The Engine sucks so bad that even on expensive PC´s people get stutter and FPS drops. Sometimes i am getting 50-60 fps then 20-30 fps The Maps arent optimized.. nothing is optimized in POE2 |

I have Ryzen 5 3600, 3070 and 64gb of RAM.
In the campaign most levels are smooth with atleast 100 fps, except for the Aztec one with the sun. In maps Savannah always lags and it overal gets quite laggy in Breach with +100% pack size. Your fps does seem worse than mine, while my CPU is lesser than the recommended specs. Does your cpu get hot? Also try Vulkan instead of DX12 performance is way better for me. The problem is that you are CPU bound just like me, lowering graphics settings will not increase your FPS. Last edited by BesottedOrb#0064 on Jan 8, 2025, 8:54:20 AM

Lots of minions that also shoot lots of projectiles, you are massively increasing the work the CPU has to do.

" There is no pc in the world which can carry this game with STABLE 60 fps. I tested poe2 at 4090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D on minions, breach fps drops to 35-40 for 1-2 sec from 140-160 anyway. 2k ultra, 2k mid, 2k low - doesnt matter. Delirium map + burning ground + breach + minions will burn ur high end pc :D If u have 3-4-5k $ pc u can play in smooth 80% time, but not ALL TIME. So, GGG just update req's to pc, now this is not true :D NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2060, Intel® Arc™ A770, or ATI Radeon™ RX 5600XT and Intel® Core™ i5-10500 or AMD™ Ryzen 5 3700X - this reqs are for playing low settings with a lot of fps drops. And a lot of ppl posting fake info about good experience with gtx 1660 and i3, etc, dont know why they are doing this :D Mb they are playing 720p on low settings.. I didnt saw for 250+ hours more than 50% usage of my cpu Ryzen 5600x and more than 80% gpu rtx 3070, btw now im playing stalker 2 on epic settings and there is no fps drops, cities skyline 2 no fps drops, cybeprunk (no rt, ultra) no fps drops - stable 60 fps in all game i have with 1080 p and 60 fps lock. My cpu and gpu are cold, 1300 rpm, etc, no usage, but laggy at poe 2, i tried all settings, clear install windows, poe, drivers, bios, overclocking, undevolting ALL :D Nothing helped. Honestly, I don't understand why I can't play this game at a stable 60 fps and 1080p on my configuration (this is not a super-duper AAAAAA+++ game). By the way, I had stable 60 frames per second in Throne and liberty on SIEGE with 400+ players, it is much more demanding on the processor and video card Thats all about optimization. Some streamers doesnt care about this, some of them raging about it. They all have high end pc, and they are giving feedback to GGG, so i just want to believe that ggg reading this forum. |

" Are u playing frost mages minions too? On my monk i have 90% stable 60 fps. Vulkan drops my stable 60 fps hideout to 40 kek Last edited by MdPapa#4104 on Jan 8, 2025, 11:45:01 AM
