Optimization? Ryzen 5600x 3070 32 gb 60 fps lock. Fps drops to 30-40.

What's wrong with this game? Where is the optimization? How can I close breaches / delerium with such fps drops? Or should I buy a $5k computer to play a game whose recommended requirements are significantly weaker than my current config? I play at almost the lowest settings and if I increase the settings, fps does not increase, everything remains in exactly the same state, only the video card heats up more. Or maybe i have some pc trouble here? But im playing with no fps drops at ultra(without RT) settings this games : Hogwarts(very bad optimization btw)/ Cyberpunk/ RDR 2/ Plague/ Control / Horizon/ Last of us and etc... Maybe smbd have same issues?

All latest drivers, win 11, etc. everething is ok, playing other games and have no pain like this.

Just tell me, why GGG nerfes builds first, and no work with such important thing as: playability ?

Minions. It's what killing performance. The game have huge amount overdraw with particles. Terrain is optimized for that, but if you add many models under this mess it will kill performance no matter what.

Just look at their reveal.
It's the same shit like in PoE1. Corpse removal hugely improve performance.

For one, increase the sharpness to 50% with DLSS on. 0% looks blurry.

Two, you clearly have a CPU bottleneck, so use DLSS Quality and turn up some settings.

Three, uncheck FPS cap in-game, disable V-Sync in game, open up Nvidia Control Panel and set a manual FPS cap of 66, turn on V-Sync globally. Or enable DLDSR to increase the render resolution. It will get downscaled and upscaled again with DLSS. You don't want to cap your FPS to 60 when you can comfortably reach that already. Slightly increasing this cap can help alleviate constant FPS dips and should give you better image stability.

What is happening here is that your GPU has no problem reaching 60 FPS, so it's constantly waiting for your CPU to catch up, and since frames are limited, it's downclocking again as soon as it's done, which creates a "negative" performance loop. This is indicated by your CPU frametime being twice as high as your GPU while idle, and also by how stable the GPU graph is in comparison to the CPU graph. Looking at said graph after you opened the Breach, it's very clear that you are CPU-limited. Ideally, you want these graphs to be close to each other, so that bottlenecks only start happening once both components reach their limits. There will always be a bottleneck, it's otherwise physically impossible, but you can influence how quickly that is reached.

Thing is, both PoE 1 and PoE 2 favor CPUs with multiple cores AND good single core performance. Your 5600X has slightly worse overall performance than a $130 i5-12400. And when I tested that one, it became obvious that it starts choking with more stuff on the screen. It wasn't a massive difference for me in 4k because that particular build will hit a limit with any CPU, but I didn't buy the 7600X3D strictly for PoE, I also play other CPU-heavy games, i.e. Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3, and it offers far better performance per buck here.

For reference, I play in 4k maxed settings with RTX HDR + DLAA (global 116 FPS cap), and my frametimes - if not in town - are fairly close to each other, around 4-6ms. You lowered all these settings to make the GPU work less and the CPU more, so you are artificially choking the CPU even harder.

Vulkan is another option for CPU-limited PCs, I just don't like it because then I have to use in-game HDR and this messes with my OBS settings. DX12 allows me to use RTX HDR, which looks a little better anyway.

Try this and report back. That said, it's not gonna solve the problem for you, but it might just play with a little less jank. By the way, I don't get a stable framerate, either, not even close.

Im guessing you tried the standard PC gaming troubleshooting?
Changing & optimizing settings in windows, nvidia and update drivers etc.

For me, changing to Vulkan helped a lot. Im playing on a 4070/ryzen laptop capped to 100fps, im dipping to around 60-70 fps on breaches which is fine imo.

I tried all possible and impossible ways to fix breach fps drops :D Shaders cashe, virtual memory etc

Wow, thx a lot for some new ideas for me. I ll try.
Btw i lowered all setting cuz of lagging, my first play session was on maxed out settings. And then.. at 3 act on my fire witch minion build i started to getting mad about fps drops, not even not at maps!
I will buy 4070 super soon and check it at 2k res. Now im playing on my old 60 hz monitor, so i will buy 2k monitor too :D
And i have an idea to swap my 5600x for 5800x3d or smth like that, dunno what cpu z better on my am4 socketm but i dont want to change all config to am5 xD

So, i just made all that u advice me to do. https://youtu.be/jCwdEd-HNhs .
Absolutely the same, but it looks better now lol :D
Like I said, it won't solve the problem, but it should feel more smooth to the eye. By the way, try disabling Global Illumination. Always impacts performance quite a bit.

Do u think buying 4070 super and 2k monitor can solve my problem? Or 5600x is not enough for 4070 super at 2k ? I watched some tests and there is 5-10 fps difference with 5700x3d(
I just want stable 60 fps forever) But i want to buy 2k 144 hz monitor.

P.s And yes, its smoother, while not breaching..

Honestly, if you can afford to splurge some cash, switch to AM5 and get a 7600X3D. Cost efficient and future upgrade path. 9800X3D won't be in stock for quite some time longer.

I will think about it, but im living in russia, so my little upgrade with 4070 super and 2k monitor will cost to me ~ 1.5 k dollars, so... if i switch to am5 i just need to change all my pc, but wait, my ssd can stay with me :D

i'm not sure which thread it was but i've heard a 4060 can do full settings in party play, so the key here is to get a CPU. I recommended getting CPU and RAM form china direct (new ones are about 30% cheaper and used/open box ones are about 50% of retail) after that just hunt down a mobo with an AM5 socket and you gucci.

and yeah jsut swap the ssd with the OS directly into the new rig, i did it just for fun but Windows actually reconfigured itself within 20min, without ill effects hoestly i'm impressed because i went form intel to amd
