So if you haven't read what I posted, exp loss has multiple implications and the most prominent is keeping builds diverse. If exp loss was remove and together with 1 portal on death, then the only thing that will matter is "DPS". If there is no consequences when you die, why build defense? You see how POE 2 will turn into a shallow game if that happens.
What people are seeing right now is just the immediate and do not think "what will this do when this is implemented?". The reasoning "then make another server", isn't really "feasible" unless GGG makes a POE 2 "Softcore (easy)" server, that is "if".
The only thing that already matter is dps. The entire end-game literally revolves around being able to deal as much damage to as many mobs as possible. Because clear speed = currency = upgrades = better dps.
And haven't seen people talk about removing the death penalty of losing portals in the entirety, just the 1-life-per-map mess that they decided to add when the 6-life model in PoE1 worked ok.

So go walk around maps with 200hp and 0/0/0 defenses.

Intellectually dishonest post since even glass cannon gear has defensive stats on them to survive attacks by nature of the affix system.

Can we do that? Need more slots to raise MF and Critical Hit chance.

if the people in here spent more time in game and less time moaning in forums they could easily recover the lost xp

I don't think the whole "check your build" point makes much sense to me with the abundance of evidence that random deaths are happening and honestly, I assume they will keep happening, even after full release. We can also refer to the many 'elite' HC players who pause out to save themselves from random, unavoidable situation out of their control - imagine how players with less time feel even in 'softcore'.
I think that argument stands only in a fully balanced game where you simply have every ounce of control in every second of every situation.

EXP loss is there because.
I write software, I write a 20 line program able to revive me after death .
Logic.
Find a way point with a known mob location.
Code up navigation to the mob and kill it.
Code up the logout/login now even easier with map reset on death.
Level to 100 while i sleep.
Logic and ironic rhyme,
Level to 100 while i sleep.
You can already do this on a character that won't die & get the same result with an exp loss, the part being skipped is the time it takes
Time is my biggest issue during the leagues

Yeah, like the souls games and games similar to them. In those there are a lot less variables which makes progressing through the game more predictable.
And even with weapons with fixed variables, there is quite a bit of build variety in it. With variating results ofc.
But then again, due to the predictable nature of the game people are able to get through the games with even the most ridiculous builds.

Well, you have your answer as to why you are dying and from your reasoning and beliefs of what is important is apparent. Remove your notion on what is "meta" and you'll actually have a better time mapping. FYI, on top of what you're seeing from these archmage build, I have also spec to faster ES regen and recovery so my ES regens start at 1.32 seconds instead of those 4 seconds and that's why I don't die easily and that is the reason why I am 97 and not having as much problem. Not everything revolves around super dps builds, defensive options are as much as important as dps.
