Which is why threads like this exist and keep popping up for years.
Not, threads like this exist because angry and frustrated players need to complain somewhere about the game being to difficult for them, to pat their egos with other people struggling too.
When I die in a video game, it's my fault, I sucked, and I accept the consequences.
When you die in a video game, it's bugged, laggy, unfair, and the consequences are undeserved torture.
We are not the same.
You're making assumptions about unknown people to satisfy your own ego and establish some kind of superiority. All this means is that dissatisfied players enjoy the game enough to voice their opinion. If they simply think the game is too buggy and sucks they click uninstall and are gone without a word.
It's not fun to blow the map up with spark and if I die it is my fault, does not mean it is not a shit mechanic that lowers my enjoyment. It induces stress even, pretty awful for a game really. Threads like this exist because it is a recurring issue and they get a lot of comments because the topic speaks to plenty of people. The fact that arguing for dozens of pages exists is proof of it.
The feedback GGG should take from this is that these mechanics have no place in the game but that there is an audience which wants some kind of race to 100/end game punishment. Their task is to figure out how to solve this problem.
The players know what they want, the developers have to find the solution as not doing so will impact their bottom line.

poe1 is more casual friendly than poe2 atm, you rly have no clue what youre talking about. poe1 is by far less punishing in everything, poe1 has a shorter campain, less gating, easier ascendency, more freedom etc. the time it needs to get lvl 95 in poe2, i would already be 100 in poe1. youre on the wrong boat buddy
Completely irrelevant to what was said? PoE1 is not PoE2. I don't care about easier ascendancy, campaign length (campaign currently the strong point of PoE2 imo) or anything. Nothing of that is on topic don't strawman an argument.

dont speak for "the players". ggg is clear with it for years, they want a xp loss on death. you may not like it, but thats reality. deal with it.

Companies want a lot of things but when customers are not dealing with it they backpeddle very quickly since their bottom line is more important than what they want. In fact, if only their vision matters then we do not need this forum at all.
GGG wants you to make mistakes and remake your character because of hard respecs, see where that went. Now we can respec for gold. PoE1 bandit? Yeah.

No, people will not "deal with it". They will instead click the Uninstall button and leave. Which is horrible for the long-term health of the game. If you can't see that I don't know what to tell you. GGG's goal with this game was to grow their playerbase, not shrink or stagnate it. They advertised it as "more friendly towards newer players". It's utterly failing at being that right now.
People are giving feedback now, because they don't want GGG to be stubborn and wait until it's too late and only then cave in and make these changes. Because first impressions of a game are everything, they are losing players day by day, some of which will never return. No matter how much a dev tries to improve a game and attract players back to it, in some people's mind the game will forever be "bad" because it sucked when they played it the first time.

there are "i dont like xp loss" threads as long as i can think about poe, they never changed it and it was fine. maybe they change back to 6 portals, i would like that and balance other things, but the xp loss is the last thing they will change for sure.

You know exp on death wouldnt be an issue if game had
Visual Clarity
Mob balance
New code instead of copy paste from poe1
Shit netcoding for movement
Im totally fine with exp penalty if its a game like poe1, where you can actually build your character in a variety of ways.
But when its rerelease of poe1 as early access and all you got are less builds than diablo so you either play some meta shit which you wont ever be able to afford already or you just uninstall and move on to other things

I just quit games when I get too frustrated with them. Not worth my time if I'm not having a good time.
I don't need everything to be a huge challenge to enjoy it. Oddly enough. Trade/Crafting/Economy + XP loss on death are all the main reasons I don't play PoE more. All negatively impacting my play.

there will always be people leaving and stop playing. ggg is not catering to everybody, who cares if somebody stops playing? nobody can prevent that and they are not trying. they want to create their vision, and nobody cares if some poeple dont like it. you cannot make a game for everybody, and poe never was on the casual side for sure.

Completely irrelevant how they did things in PoE1. PoE2 is a different product and likely has different people involved as well. It is easy to see that PoE2 attracts people with no interest in 1 so using any kind of "it was like this in 1" argument is never particularly useful to either side. PoE1 already permanently lost all the players that do not want "X is bad in PoE1", PoE2 does not.
