Have GGG let us down?

I've been let down / betrayed since 3.15.

Sure, they put out some things to try and bribe people back into the game, like multiple atlas profiles, currency broker, and other QoL things that were withheld because they didn't want them, but did anyway to get players back into the game; things that should have been in the game years ago back when we were getting expansions every other year like in 2.0 and 3.0.

But they've done so much wrong over the years that it doesn't make up for it; they've really messed up PoE 1 since their annoucement of PoE2 in order to use us as a testing ground for ideas, and we put up with it because we were told PoE1 would get the PoE2 treatment with updates to it since they were going to be on the same client. Then that all fell apart last year.

Really felt betrayed with that.

They're backtracking things with PoE2 now, like not giving us a proper in game trading broker ( apart from the currency one ), not providing our MTX that they said we were going to get from all the technical and server downage last month; including delaying the PoE2 release 3 weeks because of it. We don't get the other 3 acts even after 7+ years of them working on the game because they figure we can just do what we did in PoE1 "Release" like it's still an indie team and we should be considerate of their limitations.

I have no faith that both games will get adequate and parallel league content releases; they've already delayed PoE1 leagues numerous times over the years, and this one is the worst.

It's just been years of letdowns and going back on things.

It's actually amazing to see people defending PoE2 who have never gotten a single character over level 50 in PoE 1. There is at least one person in this thread that has never ascended a character in PoE 1 that is shilling so hard for "working toward gear."

My man, you haven't put in any effort and you never will. You are very obviously not the target audience for PoE. You are posers, talking about things you will never actually engage with.

And what's funniest of all is the "they're going a different direction" crowd. No, that's not the issue. The issue is that, where it actually matters, they arenot going a different direction at all. Systems that were problematic in PoE 1 are just as problematic in PoE 2 or even more so. Gear progression was far and away the worst issue in PoE 1 and it is infinitely worse in PoE 2. Endgame progression is worse, visual clarity is worse, so many things are worse or just as bad and it is not because these things are different--it is because they are too much of the same.

PoE 2 was an opportunity to re-examine PoE 1's faults and fix the problems from the ground up. GGG did not do so, and that is why us actual veterans are so disappointed.

I agree, these people are hilarious.

Well I'm not spending a dime until it becomes clear the first game stays fully supported.
