You can clear the entire campaign in like 8 hours with twink gear, blasting through the campaign on different characters is how you learn new builds and use the knowledge you gained to do it again more efficiently and its incredibly satisfying to do so. Just because your lazy and do not like one of the core aspects to the genre doesn't mean it should get changed so you can complain that your bored and reroll characters every 3 days whenever you hit a wall.
8 hours? I'm 46 hours in and haven't even finished Act 3. Is that just running straight through the maps and not clearing the entire map?

POE2 devs are like Colin Robinson for gaming.
I'm so glad someone finally cares about me.
Let's dive right into the utterly thrilling and scintillating world of Path of Exile 2, shall we? This highly anticipated sequel promises an even more immersive and complex gameplay experience than its predecessor. Imagine, if you will, the intricate web of skill gems and passive skill trees expanding exponentially. The developers at Grinding Gear Games have meticulously crafted a plethora of new content, from unique items to innovative mechanics that will keep players enthralled for countless hours. The story unfolds in a beautifully dark and gritty world, full of dangers and challenges that will test the mettle of even the most seasoned players. Just picturing the intense battles against monstrous foes and the strategic planning required to build the perfect character can make one's heart race with anticipation.
Ah, but we mustn't overlook the graphical upgrades that Path of Exile 2 brings to the table. The visuals are nothing short of breathtaking, with enhanced textures, lighting, and effects that breathe new life into the game's already rich and immersive environments. Every shadow and flicker of light adds to the atmosphere, creating a sense of realism that draws players deeper into the world of Wraeclast. And the attention to detail doesn't stop at the graphics. The sound design, too, has been given a meticulous overhaul, ensuring that every clash of swords, every guttural roar of a beast, and every eerie whisper of the wind is perfectly tuned to heighten the sense of immersion. It is, quite frankly, an auditory feast that complements the visual spectacle.
One cannot help but marvel at the sheer scale of the game's world. Path of Exile 2 promises to offer a vast and sprawling landscape, teeming with secrets waiting to be discovered. The developers have hinted at new and diverse environments, each with its own unique challenges and lore. From dense forests to desolate wastelands, players will embark on an epic journey that takes them across a myriad of landscapes, each more captivating than the last. And let's not forget the new endgame content, designed to provide a fresh and exhilarating experience for those who reach the pinnacle of their journey. Indeed, Path of Exile 2 is shaping up to be a monumental achievement in the realm of action RPGs, one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who dare to venture into its depths.
I'm sorry, Colin Robinson would never use such colorful and exciting language xD

I really wanna now who is the person in GGG who decided that we have to go back to fill up our flask... I mean you really must be brain dead tard for something like that to decide...
Except it's been that way since day 1 of PoE 1? Just minus the well you have to touch. And that's not the only way. The game literally tells you that you refill flasks at waypoints, checkpoints, and when killing monsters.
Tell me you don't play the game without telling me you don't play the game

That's true for the campaign. Unfortunately, the waypoint within the hideout does not restore charges, much like the behaviour of the waypoints in town. Personally, I would like if the hideouts in hideout did restore the charges, I don't get why we have this extra step now.

8 hours? I'm 46 hours in and haven't even finished Act 3. Is that just running straight through the maps and not clearing the entire map?
Sounds like it to me. I've only played the one character since launch, but 8 hours for a second run through seems pretty optimistic...
Well...
You have to do... let's see... 15 maps in act 1, 18 in act 2, 16 in act 3. Then once more again. 98 total maps, unless I missed some. You've already played once, so you can skip chatting up all the npcs and anything else unnecessary that originally slowed you down. If you can complete maps in ~10 minutes and stick to it, that'd be about 16 hours? Which isn't too bad. 8 hours would be an average of ~5 minutes per map. Which sounds... possible, but not likely for the average person.
You could skip some side maps/bosses/quests, but since most offer one form of permanent character buff or another you can't trim a *lot* off.
We don't have movement skills anymore, and travel feels slower overall. You have to *find* both main and sidequest objectives, which takes time. Maps are very large in general now, too. They *did* just add checkpoint fast travel, though. Mobs will absolutely slow you down unless you're capable of either *very* quickly killing them or slipping past them, which isn't always easy to do. Boss fights sometimes take awhile.
Any time you actually spend theorycrafting or working on your new character's build should really be counted, I think. Time spent messing around with your equipment. Y'know, all the time you're playing the game but not just nose to the grindstone going from map to map.
If I had to guess, I'd actually put a second story run through at closer to 20~30 hours, but I bet it *can* be done in closer to 8. That just won't be the average player experience.
For a first run through, I'd put it at more of a 40~60 hour game before you reach the endgame. On average.
There's definitely a large time investment in just the initial campaign, and I don't think there's any real point in downplaying that. Many people will only ever make the one character precisely because it's a full length game, and we're talking about essentially starting it over and playing it again. People often don't think of PoE as if rolling a new character was the same as hitting New Game in, say, Witcher 3... But it kind of *is*.

• Fixed a bug where characters who hadn't completed the campaign could enter endgame areas through other players hideouts.
Why Force People to Play the Campaign Over and Over Again?
Seriously, it's boring!!! You should REWARD players who have already completed the campaign!
The ability to jump straight into the Atlas with a secondary character while playing co-op was simply perfect. That was truly rewarding, fun, satisfying, and fair!
"Oh, you finished the acts? How about doing them all over again? Want to create another character? How about replaying the entire campaign once more? It's going to be incredibly enjoyable, fun, fair, and I simply don't care that you've already done it before."
Please, GGG!!! Rethink this requirement of having to repeatedly play through the campaign multiple times—it makes no sense!!! Let players enjoy the endgame, please. Reward them for completing the campaign; don't punish them with more frustration!!!
Doing the campaign was always in poe even in poe1. If you want to skip campaign go play D4
You forgot to mention that campaign in PoE1 is short and faster to finish.

People who want to skip the story after the first playthrough, should go back to D4. It was the absolute worst idea Blizzard had in D3 when they introduced endgame and gave us a skip button for the entire story. Then they have gone and added this feature in D4 too. That is exactly why Diablo has become so incredibly boring.
When a game stops caring for its own story, every incentive to play it fades away in all of the player base, as EVERY single added feature afterwards, ignores the story too and is solely found in endgame content.
If you do that, there is no reason to have a story in the first place. Then you should be honest to yourself and do not give a story and start with the endgame from the very beginning.
Thankfully GGG does NOT go that route. They care for their story and it will be a blast once all 6 acts are out. Because the journey to the endgame is actually the most progression oriented part, with most variation to gameplay and exploring in regards to the given invironment and yourself.
The endgame in any game is always the most repetitive and boring part(unless the story part is extremely bad). I think it requires a composition of both. A repetetive part and a story part. Erasing one, will lead to an outcome that leans too much in one direction, and then you have to inevitably ask yourself why the other part even exists.
